With Kansas club ball pausing in June for high school teams to put in work I think it is a good time to share some notes on 2025s that caught my attention.

[player_tooltip player_id='456530' first='Amaree' last='Henderson'], 5'10”, PF, Newton, Dynasty - I was thrilled to see Henderson back on the floor. She missed most of her junior season, returning in the last month and made such an impact she a AVCTL Division I Honorable Mention. Henderson has a great build, is very athletic and has great footwork. She has good speed and a natural, smooth quickness on the block or off the drive that she uses to create shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='539005' first='Saliyah' last='Henderson-Johnson'], 5'7", PG/SG, Arkansas City, [program_tooltip program_id='712424' first='B2B' last='Kansas Bluejays'] - Henderson-Johnson is strong on both sides of the ball. She has speed and quicks with the ball, elevates well on her jumpers and takes good perimeter shots with little wasted movement and plenty of air under the ball. Defensively, her ability to beat the ball to the spot makes her very formidable one-on-one opponent.

[player_tooltip player_id='456532' first='Halle' last='Jones'], 5'5", PG/SG, Holcomb, [program_tooltip program_id='715500' first='Magic' last='Basketball'] - I enjoyed catching Jones with her club teammates again. As I expected she showed herself to be a hard working, two-way player with solid aggression and creativity to score in a variety of ways offensively. Jones competed with physicality and good speed. Love her motor.

[player_tooltip player_id='456514' first='Tayten' last='Dewey'], 5'10", SF, Rawlins County, [program_tooltip program_id='715500' first='Magic' last='Basketball'] - As with her other club mates I enjoyed catching Dewey on the floor. She a lengthy small forward who runs the floor well, finishes with either hand and is a scoring threat at all three levels. She challenges shots smartly and without fouling. Dewey also has solid transition speed and good hands. The Buffaloes reached the 1A Division I state tournament with her playing out of position at point guard. That in itself speaks to her willingness to do what is necessary for her team.

[player_tooltip player_id='335932' first='Marilyn' last='Soeken'], 5'7", PG/SG, Central Plains, Western [program_tooltip program_id='715643' first='Kansas' last='Elite'] - After missing seeing her this past high school season I was thrilled to catch Soeken at a WKE tryout. A talented three-level scorer who has a good combination of speed and quickness she was one of the top two players who were paired against each other in drills. A high motor player she used her physical talents well on both ends. Soeken has strong handles, is a true floor leader at the point and finishes athletically on both sides of the hoop.
