5 Make Big Friendly 16U All-Tournament First Team

Photo: Robert Kelly Prep Girls Hoops</figcaption></figure>   15 16U teams composed of players from Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas hit the four courts of Solid Rock gymnasium in Edmund, Oklahoma, for the Battle In The Big Friendly. Starting with a game Friday night and continuing through Sunday afternoon the teams played five games. It was enjoyable to watch as players showed improving play, strong effort, and plenty of stamina. Over time several players sifted to the top as standouts and many of them made various all-tournament teams. Kicking off the 16U all-tournament teams is the first team. Engmann, PF, 5'10", Putnam City West (OK), Antioch Saints 2027, 2027 - 'Ace' is a big bodied, strong center/power forward with a burgeoning game.  A two-way paint hog, she defended with intent and showed quick scoring ability around the hoop.  Effective on the glass on both ends as well, Engmann keeps the ball high off the catch or rebound to get a score and wastes little movement doing so.  Offensively she showed good bounce on her one-dribble move off the catch to stroke a mid-range jumper and her head and shoulder fakes to work off the bounce.     <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/04/Whitney-Jense-2027-Triumph-2026-Select-South-Lake-Carroll-TX-e1714614251760.jpg?w=425" alt="" class="wp-image-901539" style="width:90px;height:auto" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Southlake Carroll and Triumph Select 2027 Whitney Jense. Photo: Robert Kelly Prep Girls Hoops</figcaption></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='634243' first='Arika' last='Feldman'], 6'1", SF/PF, Little River (KS), Lady PGUHoops 2026, 2026 - When parents watching the event are talking about a player using phrases like "we'd be doing okay if it wasn't for number 24," you know that player is making a noticeable impact. A long, long-limbed and fast Feldman showed off her motor, quickness and smarts on both ends of the floor. The best two-way big at the event, she went coast-to-coast off the defensive rebound or turnover. She also ran the floor correctly to catch and finish transition finishes.  Help-side defense was strong from her as was defending on the wing or inside.  Feldman showed ball skills to work in the front court, back-to-basket abilities to score with either hand and an ability to knock down shots fluidly in the mid-range and beyond the arc   <figure class="wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/05/Amara-King-2028-BTR-16U-e1714614694722.jpg?w=425" alt="" class="wp-image-902424" style="width:90px;height:auto" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">BTR 16U 2028 Amara King. Photo: Robert Kelly Prep Girls Hoops.</figcaption></figure>   Whitney Jense, 5'8", PG/SG, Southlake Carroll (TX), Triumph Select 2026, 2026 - When Jense was making her presence felt she was the best two-way point guard at the event. She handled well at speed, scored at all three levels and showed quickness getting into the lane and defending on the perimeter. Her length at the position was a contributing factor, creating match-up problems offensively as she would easily score over smaller defenders and could finish over or around taller ones. Photo: Robert Kelly Prep Girls Hoops</figcaption></figure>   Amara King, 6'0", PF/SF, [program_tooltip program_id='712433' first='BTR' last=''] 2026 (OK), 2028 - The long, solid sized post showed the ability to play and defend a variety of positions. She ran well in transition and has the motor to take advantage of opponents who do not consistently stay in contact with her. King consistently pulled-up and gathered well to set up shots.   Reagan Rasmussen, 6'1", C, Logan-Rogersville (MO), MO Storm, 2026, 2026 - While Rasmussen has a ways to go to fill out her frame and improve her strength she was one of the top two-way bigs at the event. She ran well, showed an ability to use her good hops to go up and get passes. Rasmussen also showed good quickness and interior post moves.
