Continue ReadingI found new favorite guard in Northwest Georgia over the weekend. NaXyria Roberts is a quick pass-first playmaker that plays with a nonstop motor, flying around the floor to make plays. The hustler is a pesky on-ball defender with active hands, often converting turnovers into transition opportunities in which she thrives. Roberts, only around 5-foot-4, is quicker than everyone else to loose balls and stray rebounds. In the two games I saw, NaXyria averaged 9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 4.5 steals. The near triple-double machine scores with both hands around the rim, using her speed to beat her man to the hoop. The next step for Roberts would be to continue adding consistent range to her jump shot. I think D-III and NAIA schools will want to take a look at the Energizer Bunny.

In a highly entertaining 60-53 win over Cam Sports , Wisdom Kent Wisdom Kent 5’8″ | SG Dalton | 2027 GA exploded with four threes en route to 24 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals and 1 block. The southpaw poured in points from all levels using her soft touch. She did well cutting into open spaces for floaters in the lane and was able to mix in some one-dribble pull-ups from the wing. With a large senior class leaving Dalton, Kent looks ready to step up and provide a versatile scoring option which should keep the Catamounts competitive. She has three good years ahead of her.

Lily left a lasting impression with her game. Roberts stands around 5-foot-10 and has the skill to play both inside and out. She attacked from the wing with drives but also showed off range with her three-point shot. She can be moved around and utilized in a variety of ways. I think she could be dangerous in the high post with her shooting, ability to drive and her decision making as a passer. Defensively, Roberts holds switchability, capable of guarding guards and bigs. In the win over Cam Sports , Roberts had 8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks. The combo-forward is a sneaky good player worth keeping tabs on moving forward.
One of Georgia’s best passers, Jatiana brought her 229 flair to Peach Games. Against FBC Dynasty, Chambers posted 7 points, 2 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. The undersized guard sees the floor incredibly well, getting penetration before lasering assists to her posts or shooters waiting outside. Chambers uses her body well when attacking the basket, shielding the ball from shot blockers as she goes up to score with floaters and crafty finishes. JaJa can sink the pull-up three to keep defenses honest. While Chambers shoulders the heavy burden of creating offense for her teammates, Jatiana is still an impactful defender that scraps for every inch. College programs looking for a floor general that makes their teammates better should not let Chambers slip through the cracks.

South Georgia has a sleeper in Breyona Hill. The 6-foot-3 center plays with a mean streak inside. She’s physical and knows how to use her body. Hill has soft hands. She gobbles up rebounds, scoring on three putbacks against FBC Dynasty. Hill has a strong drop-step and scores over her left shoulder. Continuing to implement her left hand around the rim will help her become even more dominant. It was impressive to see Breyona step outside to the elbow to hit a mid-range jumper. Defensively, Hill turns back shots and keeps opponents off the offensive glass. Bre collected 16 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocks in the seven-point loss. With more reps ahead of her, Hill has a chance to emerge as one of South Georgia’s most feared interior players and a legitimate college prospect for four-year programs.

The unsigned senior can score the ball. She hit a pair of threes, scored an And-1 in transition and netted short jumper, part of her 14 points and 2 rebounds against FBC Dynasty. Jackson is on the smaller side for an off-guard but she has a strong frame and can hold her own against length.

The long-armed lefty has a ton of tools in her bag. Known as being an electric scorer at Horizon Christian, with AEBL she can take a backseat and let others do the heavy lifting, transitioning as more of a playmaker. Black has a quick first step and long strides which get her to the rim in a blink. She makes zippy passes that cut through the defense to open teammates for easy buckets. I like Black’s defensive presence on the perimeter. With her speed and activity, she pokes away steals and gets into passing lanes. Nyla recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in a 70-52 win over SC Eagles.
Highlights
High Major programs have poured in offers for the big guard that can play 1-5. Kali has a smooth feel. She handles the ball with ease and can lull defenders asleep before making quick moves downhill. Barrett has a pretty three-point stroke and is a mismatch with her diverse scoring attack. Kali is a threat in the low post with her turnaround jumper, an extremely difficult shot for defenders to contest due to her length and the separation she creates. Barrett posted 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists vs. SC Eagles. She is one of the most popular prospects the Southeast has to offer.
Highlights
The big guard fits the AEBL build of having dynamic players with size that can play all over the floor. Wilson got to her left hand when she wanted to, using spin moves to free herself downhill where she could finish through contact for And-1s. The southpaw tallied 9 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block. While Wilson is a crafty driver, I think she is at her best when she mixes in her three-ball. A handful of D-I programs have already offered the explosive scorer that averaged 27.2 points per game as a junior.

I am stunned to find out only North Greenville and Sewanee have offered. Amaya is a workhorse. At around 5-foot-10, Redd plays inside and out. She has a rock-solid frame with strong shoulders, allowing her to bully her way to the rim on drives and clear out opponents when attacking rebounds. Amaya has a quick burst of speed with the ball, using an in-and-out dribble to get downhill. Redd finished with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals and 1 block. Her blend of athleticism, size, toughness, versatility and skill should put her on the map with more schools after this weekend.
Munchie did her thing throughout the weekend. The highly-skilled combo-forward showcased why High Major programs are all over her. Worthy has the size of a post, but the skill set and nimbleness of a guard. She handles the ball well for her size and fluidly gets into her jumper off the dribble. Worthy netted threes and sank post turnaround jumpers. Nakhai finished with two hands on layups, smacking the backboard with both – something you just do not see in the girls game. Worthy collected 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in the 18-point win. Worthy is one of Georgia’s elite in a talented 2027 class.

I like how Ward sees the floor. Leilani Leilani GA is a sharp passer that really excels off the dribble as a facilitator. Her drive and dish game feeds post players as she delivers look-off passes. While Ward’s strongest attribute is her court vision, she is also a tough scorer as well. She is a crafty finisher in traffic.
Roberts has good touch in the paint. She is strong and physical, using her size to get into position for offensive rebounds. Once she collects caroms, Roberts finishes through fouls. Even in tough spots where the backboard angle doesn’t present itself, Ayana has a soft release that floats in hoops from 8-feet and in.

I was really impressed by the toughness and versatility of Journy Scott Journy Scott 5’9″ | SF Fitzgerald | 2025 GA in a 74-64 win over OMGTGE. Scott can play a number of positions but is mostly a wing. She is physical when getting to the hoop and does a great job absorbing contact to complete And-1s. Scott rebounds and pushes the ball in transition. Journy is a threat to pull-up from 10-feet to drop in short jumpers as the defense backs up. I liked what she did defensively, aggressively defending inside and out and timing her jumps perfectly to block shots. Tucked away at Fitzgerald, Journy is a nice sleeper that non D-Is should kick the tires on.
