When you evaluate a prospect that can play at an elite level, several different factors must be taken into consideration and one of those factors that stands out to almost anyone watching is the “it” factor. This factor is when a player just makes “it” happen, no matter what “it” might be and in this case,
Claire Storhoff

has demonstrated that she has the “it” factor whenever she takes the court. Storhoff is a decently sized guard, that has quick movements from side-to-side, while also being skilled on both ends of the floor. She can score from all three levels at an effectient rate, while also being a sound defender in both the full or half courts. This past season for Decorah as a Freshman Storhoff had this ability on full display and she has carried that momentum into her AAU season this Spring. This is one of those players that is going to be a steal for any collegiate recruiter if they can land her at the end of the day. She shows up every contest she participates in and that speaks volumes to who she is as a competitor.

Elysionna Westerfield Elysionna Westerfield 5'8" | CG CR Washington | 2027 State IA has sneaky ability on the court. This is a prospect that can really “wow” you, if you don’t tag her early on in a contest. Her raw potential mixed with her athletic ability is something that most don’t account for and when that happens, she seems to thrive. This Spring on a Team Iowa 2027 BlueStar team, Westerfield shows that she is consistently one of their best prospects. She makes things happen out of thin air, she can leave her defenders in the dust, and she is a willing/able passer once things open up on the offensive side of the ball. Last season for CR Washington, she made her mark and put everyone on notice but that was just the start of things. I have a feeling that this Winter will be her best season to date if she stays locked in and is used in the correct ways.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, watch out for IC City High – High School this upcoming season. They return most of their prospects from a year ago, while being a very diverse team on both sides of the ball. One of their main post prospects from a year ago, that will be taking the floor again is
Hattie Galloway

. Galloway is a prospect of opportunity. She moves really well for her size at 6’0, she has a soft touch on the basketball near the rim, and she understands when to step up in space so that her teammates can give her an assist near the basket. Not to mention, that she can be a game changer on the defensive side of things by getting consistent stops or blocks on bigger players she might have to matchup against. This Winter is going to be a fun one for the Little Hawks and I can’t wait to see how they do overall.

compete, I was impressed with the energy and skill level that she brought to the court. Since then, she has seemly gotten better and she is ready to make that clear this Winter with her Waukee NW team. There are a lot of prospects out there that are dedicated to the game but one of the most dedicated is Princehouse. On this trajectory, she will continue to be a factor for her Battlers AAU program and her Waukee NW High School program at the end of the day. The NW program is going to shock several people this upcoming season if their players compete to their full capabilities. There is no doubt in my mind and in that conversation, Princehouse will get a chance to make a name for herself, even more than she already has at this point.

Tessa Jones Tessa Jones 5'7" | SG Dallas Center Grimes | 2027 IA of DCG and the All Iowa Attack is going to have a chance to step up big time this Winter season with her Mustangs team because of their loss of production due to graduation. Jones took the floor and played some meaningful minutes last season on her team’s State Tournament run but that was just the tip of the iceberg. If Jones locks in and is used in the correct ways with the others around her on the court, she could really shine in any game she competes in. Her shooting stroke is fundamental and balanced, she has a smart head on her shoulders, and she doesn’t like to force shots/action. When you combined that all together, you get a recipe for success so I can’t wait to see what she comes up with moving int the near future.
