Team Camp Individual Insights: June 12th Edition

I'm in constant contact with people around the state that are in the know. High school coaches, travel coaches, media, etc and I'm always hunting their insights. Disclaimer: It's summer ball. For some coaches it means almost literally nothing. But, I think it can set the tone for your team's season. And on an individual level, it shows who's been putting in the work since their HS season ended. So personally, I love summer HS ball.   Here is what I have for today:    Gosh, just watch the film. Physically, she jumps off the screen as the strongest kid on the floor. Physically, she's college ready. Skill wise, she's got an old school where she's most comfortable attacking the rim and shooting from mid-range, but she's beginning to show off a more diverse skill set. She's shown off nice handles this summer, and beginning to look more fluid as a powerful wing with playmaking ability. If she can consistently starting hitting from 3, she's got different level she can get to as a player. She's already sitting on D1 offers, and certainly will be sitting on more if this summer is any indication of what is to come.     I really like players like [player_tooltip player_id='409016' first='Jayda' last='Bernard']--players that simply improve year to year, and understand that their basketball career is a marathon and not a sprint. Her and [player_tooltip player_id='810482' first='Camden' last='Ward'] make one of the toughest 1-2 punches in the state as both are 6'0+ D1 kids that love controlling the paint and playing physically.   Bernard is already a D1 level defender/shot blocker/rebounder, but is really beginning to show signs offensively that changes her individual trajectory as a player. Get on her X (@jaydabernard1) and watch the film.   She's finishing efficiently around the rim with both hands. What I like the most is the court vision I've seen from her. Her dual ability to both score at a high percentage and make high level passes from the paint potentially takes her team another level.     The Siegel transfer has looked fantastic for Stewarts Creek this summer. She's exactly what they needed: a floor spacing guard with high level vision that can setup Ward and Bernard for easy buckets.   Stewart's Creek needs space, and Hodge gives them that. She's a legit 3 point threat that defenses have to respect. I really love her ability to pass the basketball, and her one-handed "pocket pass" quick off the bounce is a weapon!     I really like this kid's game, and she really makes the '25 class for Stewarts Creek tough to handful. She's a really nice compliment to Hodge in the backcourt as their skill sets really complement one another.   Wilder is a defensive menace: quick feet, active hands, elite athleticism, and tons of "want to." Offensively she's deadly when she gets downhill to her right hand. She's starting to show progression shooting the ball as well.     The Wayne County guard is currently ranked #54 according to us at PGH....and she's proving us wrong. Great job kid!   She's looked fantastic summer, and is a legitimate three level scorer. She's deadly from three, and can be both a catch and shoot threat or, if you don't respect her off the dribble and allow her to find some rhythm, she's beginning to knock that down too. She's looked comfortable and confident attacking the rim, and is making all the right "rim reads" once she gets into the paint. She had a great spring with [program_tooltip program_id='713296' first='Team' last='Brandan Wright'], and her evolution as a ball player is apparent this summer.
