[player_tooltip player_id='311370' first='Bailey' last='Birmingham'] has had quite the Spring leading us into the month of July and she is ready to finish off her AAU career on a high note. As of most recently, Birmingham has committed to Northwestern Missouri State to compete on the basketball hardwood after her high school career comes to an end. This is a solid pick up for the Bearcats, who end up snagging another Top 25 prospect out of Iowa while preparing for their future. Birmingham was a leader in the state in scoring a year ago averaging over 27 PPG and she will have a chance to do that once again this upcoming Winter season. With the additions they have coming to their roster, it should be a fun season to be a Norwalk fan.

This AAU season has been another successful one for [player_tooltip player_id='311373' first='August' last='Palmer'] of City High - High School. Palmer is a D2 committed guard, with a lot of promise when she possesses the basketball coming down the floor. After seeing her Little Hawks team compete a few weeks ago at the DCG Shootout, you can tell that this upcoming season could be a special one for this group. They bring back a lot of pieces from a year ago and Palmer will be ready to lead per usual. In this Update, she moves up to the #19 spot right before this important month of July. If she continues to produce just like she has up until this point, her and her team's are going to look top notch over these next couple of months. Something very doable at this point in the grand scheme of things.

[player_tooltip player_id='311380' first='Sydney' last='Huber'] is going to return to the Varsity floor this upcoming season with vengeance on her mind. Huber will have one more shot to make her mark with her Mount Vernon Mustang program before she takes her skills to the next level to compete with her future Evansville Aces collegiate program. Huber is a lengthy Shooting Guard, that has been demonstrating that skill at a high rate every time she has taken the floor over the past couple of seasons. Prior to her commitment, she took a handful of visits other places so you know that the fit had to feel right for her within the Aces recruitment process when everything came to a finish. This AAU season she will finish up her career with her Iowa Dream 17U program on the road. There is a lot of pressure lifted from athletes once they commit so I'm sure she will compete this next few weeks with plenty of confidence as she tries to help her team win a bunch of ball games in a short amount of time.

Waukee is a program that is going to have a chance to shock some teams this upcoming 2024-2025 season. They are filled with quick guards and elite shooters from all over the floor. If team's let them get hot early on, it could be a long night for anyone who matches up against them. One of the highly talent guards, that is going to have an important job of leading this team will be Northern Illinois Commit, [player_tooltip player_id='311372' first='Emilie' last='Sorensen']. Sorensen is one of those prospects that can score a bunch of points in a hurry because of her quick trigger from deep. She understands her footwork to a T, always seeming to get clean looks at the basket in small area's of space. When you pair this with her ability to put the ball on the ground and make something happen off of the dribble while attacking downhill, you start to see how she could be a killer with the right guidance. This Winter we will see how far she can take things with this group. In this Update, she jumps up to #20 after demonstrating another solid AAU season on the road with her [program_tooltip program_id='712377' first='All' last='Iowa Attack'] program.

The only prospects in this article that is still uncommitted but with a ton of interest right now is [player_tooltip player_id='873159' first='Abby' last='Lee'] of Bishop Heelan High School. Lee is someone that really took the state by storm last Varsity season. She was the anchor for her BH team and she is going to be in charge of doing the same thing this upcoming year. Lee is a force down-low with her determination and physical play style. She is good enough to score going through the chest of an opponent or she can slide around them for an easier bucket on either side of the basket. This July is an important month for everyone competing and I'm sure that Lee is going to make the most of her opportunities before she chooses a place to compete at the next level this Fall. If she handles her business and rides that momentum into the high school season, she is going to kill it this next two months as it pertains to this sport.
