R4R Day-2 Notebook, Part-2

It's that time of year again, as the July "live" periods are upon us. The annual Run 4 Roses Classic tournament is underway in Louisville, Kentucky, with more than 80 courts in use. Below is a quick look at several more prospects who stood out on Day-2 when I was able to see them.   .    Friday was my first time watching Ka'Dence at length, and she is a nice talent who at this point could be a "sleeper" in this talented 2026 class. She is athletic, long for her height, and she has solid strength as well. She is tough-nosed and plays with a motor as well. She can create offense off the bounce, find open teammates, or score it at all three levels herself. She saw solid minutes in 23 games for Ben Davis as a Sophomore.     Despite an inferior opponent when I saw her play Friday afternoon, Myah was locked in and didn't let down. She made shot after shot, with range, off-balance, in traffic, plus she found open teammates. I think what I've been most impressed with her over the last year has been her ability to make herself more explosive in all directions. She has turned that corner athletically, and is powering through defenses and absorbing contact much better.     With [player_tooltip player_id='492319' first='Myah' last='Epps'] (above) drawing quite a bit of attention, Maryrose was able to find space and rhythm pretty easily Friday afternoon. When she's able to get her balance and square her shoulders, she's one of the best shooters in the state. She knocked down several jumpers, even attacked a couple of times with nice finishes, and looks like a real weapon on the wing. Becoming a more dynamic scorer on a consistent basis should be the next step to help her recruiting.     Eliana is a player who I was able to see for the first time Friday in-person. She has nice strength for her age/size, broad shoulders, and length. She was obviously skilled, calm, and poised against their opponent. She handled it comfortably and never looked rattled. I would eventually like to see her against guards who will really challenge her and force her to play with more urgency. But I could tell she was a really nice prospect.     I hadn't seen Eva in a while, so it was good to catch her in action Friday. She is extremely long, wiry, and fairly fluid as an athlete. She has a versatile skillset and is able to play in the mid-post or around the perimeter. She can put it on the floor, find open teammates, plus she can knock down shots at different levels. She has gained a little strength over the last couple of years, but as that continues to build, look for her to be an even bigger problem for opponents.     Indiah is one of the best prospects in the entire state who few people know much about. She has a strong, athletic frame, length, plus she can run & jump with just about anyone. She plays with a motor, is coachable, plus she willingly defends three positions equally well. Offensively, she can act as a slashing/scoring wing, a point forward, or she can even play an undersized '4' role if a team wants to play "small ball".     D'Aaliyah has a lot of the "measurables" coaches look for in a prospect...she is extremely long, fluidly athletic, and somewhat bouncy. She tries to play with physicality, despite still needing a bit of strength, and she seems to always play hard as well. Defensively, she is about what you'd expect, protecting the rim, but also being able to step out and defend wings. Offensively, she has some touch facing the basket, even as deep as the 3-point line.     Macy is a tough-nosed, hard-working little guard, she plays with a great motor, and she has some speed & quickness. I feel like she has done a nice job of transitioning from being more of a combo guard early in high school, to becoming a more traditional point guard, now. She has improved her handle and awareness, her shot selection, plus she has improved her urgency defensively. I think she can come in and help a small college be successful.
