Now that the Spring & Summer grassroots season is in the past, and student-athletes are preparing to return to their regular school schedules, I wanted to take the time to highlight a handful of 2025 prospects who I feel are still under-recruited and offer a great deal of value for the next level. The following prospects can all be found on the watch list in 2025 on PGH Indiana.

In an era when size is at a premium, I am a little surprised Shelby hasn't drawn more interest already, especially considering she played this Spring & Summer and played well. She is more of a traditional post...big, strong, physical...but she also has nice hands, solid footwork, and she plays with a very good motor for a "big". I really like her effort in running the floor plus her physicality when boxing out and rebounding. Defensively, she does a solid job of rotating to "help", she "walls up" well, and she makes people think twice before attacking the paint.

Danica is one of the more talented athletes in Indiana in the 2025 class. She can run & jump, she has quickness, and she is just all-around explosive. More than really being defined by a position, Danica is best described as being a playmaker offensively. She can get to the rim with ease, she is solid in the mid-range game, plus she can find open teammates. Defensively, the combination of her explosiveness and her length allow her to defend aggressively on the ball or affect passing lanes and create steals/deflections off the ball.

Vivian returned from a significant knee injury this past Winter, and she showed flashes of solid play throughout the Spring. However, by July I feel like she was much more consistent. She completed plays better, finished scores easier, and improved her decision-making quite a bit. She is a long, wiry-strong, North/South athlete who does play with a nice motor. She is willing to be physical at times, she will rebound aggressively, and she is versatile defensively.

I was able to see Reese multiple times in July, and I feel like she was really good each time I saw her. She plays with outstanding energy, she is a nice all-around athlete, plus she has gotten stronger and more physical. She is a very effective mid-post forward, she has touch facing the basket, plus she can put it on the floor from there and finish around the rim. I also like her versatility defensively for the small college level. She is strong and physical enough to defend most '4s', but she is also athletic enough to defend out on the wing.

Sara is one of the best prospects available who opted out of playing grassroots basketball this Spring & Summer. She is a quick, savvy, feisty point guard. She has good all-around court sense, she can find teammates through the smallest of windows, but she also has touch outside if she gets any rhythm. Defensively, she can get under ball-handlers with her quickness and quick hands, but she also rotates to "help" well and reads passing lanes away from the ball. She could/should be a nice small college lead guard.

Like McSpadden (above), Brooklyn also returned from a knee injury this past Winter, but she seemed to find her stride throughout the Spring. She looks leaner, stronger, and much more consistent. She will typically be one of the hardest workers on the floor, she brings a lot of intangible qualities to the team, but she is also skilled. She can handle the ball, she's a nice passer, plus she can shoot it if she has any space and gets her rhythm. She could be a little quicker defending the ball, but she does understand angles, and she is effective off the ball.

Addison had a nice Junior season, carving out a role in a very strong, deep Hamilton Southeastern lineup. Because of that and her versatility, I feel like she's one of the most undervalued prospects in the small college world. She is tough-nosed, she plays with a strong motor, and she is willing to do all of the "little things" to help her team(s) win. She is physical inside the arc, she's an aggressive rebounder, plus she has shown defensively versatility. Offensively, she can knock down the mid-range jumper consistently, but she's also fairly comfortable around the perimeter.
