Progressing through my all-summer ball teams, following the 2025 team part one and two, I now turn to the incoming juniors. My all-summer ball teams only include players I saw in person. This limitation shaved off the more than 250 players that I am currently aware of, just less than 150 of which are currently ranked. This 2026 team was especially difficult to shape due the large number of prospects seen. Enjoy this first part of my summer all-Kansas 2026 team.

Point Guards

[player_tooltip player_id='881001' first='Jakayla' last='Davis'], 5'6", PG, St. Marys Colgan - Davis enters the 2025 season as the top ranked point guard in 2A. With a well rounded, smooth game Davis is just flat tough on both ends of the floor. Athletic with quick hands, she does not just score it from all three levels but has terrific speed with and is unselfish with the ball. Opponents get frustrated into mistakes due to her relentlessness on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id='445843' first='Elizabeth' last='Helms'], 5'5", PG, Riverton - From what I saw from Helms this summer she clearly is one of the top five point guards in 3A. A floor leader with an aggressive style she showed great handles against full court pressure and a "I'm going by you, over you or through you" basket attack game. On both ends of the floor Helms is arguably the most physical point guard in the class.

[player_tooltip player_id='931949' first='Keimara' last='Marshall'], 5'4", PG, Topeka - Marshall can really disrupt a ball handler's ability to run an offense with her lateral and hand quickness. She also has one of the best crossover moves in the state. She makes good decisions, plays in control setting her team in motion and has a sweet floater in the lane she uses after making her defender look ugly off the dribble. As her perimeter shooting prolificness and percentage increases Marshall's dangerousness with the ball will also.

[player_tooltip player_id='544018' first='Faith' last='McCallop'], 5'4", PG, Piper - Piper is looking to return to the 4A state tournament for the first time since the 2020, Covid-caused Forever Four, season. McCallop, a transfer from multi-title winner Bishop Miege, will play a central role for the Pirates due to being one of the top point guards in the class. Like I wrote earlier in June, she does what I love to do with my 450hp Mustang California Special...blow people's doors off. Against the very strong competition nobody could consistently keep her in front of them in space. While her frame is on the light side she is quick with the ball, makes strong decisions and shoots the ball well from the perimeter. Her quickness of hand and foot on the defensive end disrupts ball handlers. She is also high IQ denying opposing guards working in the elbow area. A terrific two-way talent.

Shooting Guards

[player_tooltip player_id='908452' first='Mallie' last='Irsik'], 5'11", SG/SF, St. James Academy - There is a lot to like about this slender, lengthy, aggressive shooting guard. Not only is she quick to put the ball on the floor in transition and the half court but she also uses her quicks well to shut off interior drives. Especially notable is her smart use of the baseline to pinch drivers. As a scorer, her pull-up jumper in the lane is especially effective.

[player_tooltip player_id='650612' first='Molly' last='Numrich'], 5'3", SG, Blue Valley Northwest - Numrich is a guard I anticipate emerging as one of the Huskies' top guards. Her diverse offensive game starts with her variety of fakes to get a step or create space. While I wanted to see her shoot the ball more with range she consistently scored in the mid-range and on finishes. As a lead guard she pushed, shared and created for others. She used her smarts, hustle and quicks to guard the ball well.

[player_tooltip player_id='719104' first='Addysen' last='Patrick'], 5'5", CG, Moundridge - It had been a year since I saw Patrick play but when I did I was impressed with not just her accuracy with range but also her swift release off the catch. A dangerous shooter with good transition footwork, Patrick will have a big role on a strong Wildcats roster looking to challenge for a 2A title.

[player_tooltip player_id='895650' first='Sylvia' last='Selmon'], 5'3", SG, The Independent School - Selmon had a big summer showing off her shooting sharps with downtown range. With her feet set and in a groove she can be practically automatic. She uses the screen game to create space and wastes little movement on her release. Not just a shooter Selmon showed quality speed and athleticism to finish strongly in transition and off the bounce. For the defending 2A state champs she will play a substantial role as a scorer in the transition game and from the perimeter.
