To be a, “Stock-Riser”, means a few things depending on how you look at it but the most important factor in my opinion is that the prospect is continuously putting in meaningful work in their off-time and that work is translating to the floor in real game-time. In this piece, we cover six individuals out of this 2025 Class in Iowa, that have embodied what it means to be a Stock-Riser these past few months.

One of the most sound Point Guards throughout the State of Iowa, that happens to still be uncommitted out of the 2025 Class is [player_tooltip player_id='497067' first='Aubrie' last='Haynes'] of Bondurant Farrar High School. Haynes is that player that a coach can trust in. Whether it's to make the right read on a play, get everyone else around her set up, or anything in between. Haynes is the type of prospect that you can give the ball to in pressure situations and she is always going to make something positive happen, all while being a resource that her teammates can look to. I've gotten several calls about Haynes and her recruitment the past few weeks from different collegiate coaches all around the Midwest. It's only a matter of time until she picks her future home and wherever that may be, I'm sure she is going to join that program firing on all cylinders.

[player_tooltip player_id='842631' first='Keira' last='McCormick'] is a name that everyone should know if you are paying close attention to high school ball in Iowa this Winter. McCormick is a 6'2 Center that competes with Waukon High School. As a Junior, she averaged close to a double-double in Points-Rebounds with 14.5 PPG and 9.9 RPG. If you examine film from McCormick, you can tell that she is very raw in her abilities on the floor but there is a foundation in place to build off of. She does the obvious things well for her size like rebound, pick & roll, and hitting an outlet pass but she just needs to continue to fine-tune some things as she continues to get older. I do expect her to put up some nice numbers this Winter once again and that should get her a chance to play at the next level in some form if she so chooses to go that route. It may be a process but if handled correctly, McCormick could be productive for years to come.

This Winter I will be in attendance to scout Sioux City West compete and I am excited to watch their prospects go to work. Especially players like SF, [player_tooltip player_id='842624' first='Vera' last='Grom']. Grom returns for her Senior season, coming off of a solid AAU Spring/Summer and prior high school Varsity season as a Junior. Last Winter, she averaged a team high 14.9 PPG on 47% shooting, along with 9.5 RPG, and 2 APG. Coming into this Winter, her role will become even bigger as they lose one of their main producers from a year ago due to graduation. This is a big opportunity from Grom but she should be up for the challenge. In this Update, she moves in out Top 100 at #88. Something she should be proud of but not satisfied with.

There are a lot of questions around the CR - Prairie High School program moving into this Winter but the two things that we know for certain are that they will have a very talented roster individually - skill set wise and they will have great coaching/support to back them in anything they do. Those two things usually lead to a lot of success so it'll be fun to see what they can do over the next six months. Someone from their upperclassmen group, that has some collegiate offers but is still uncommitted is CG - [player_tooltip player_id='794878' first='Asia' last='Beale']. Beale demonstrated this AAU season that when she needs to take over and be the first option, she can be. Within the Hawks system, I'm sure their coaching staff has everyone set up for success. As long as everyone comes with the correct mindset, they should be good to go.

[player_tooltip player_id='873159' first='Abby' last='Lee'] of Bishop Heelen has been one of the most sought after prospects out of the state of Iowa since her State appearance during the Spring time. Lee is a 6'0 Center, that competes with physical play, calculated aggression, and superior knowledge of the game than most her age. Every team that she happens to compete with, understands her abilities and what she does best. This helps them get her the ball in the correct spots on the floor, giving her the best shot to make a play for her team. I think this same ability is going to help Lee at the next level, when she eventually gets there following this season. The way she can adapt with her size but also be dominant at times is noteworthy and I'm hoping we see it each contest she competes in this Winter with her Crusaders program.
