In this article we highlight a handful of players out of the 2028 Class, that are currently listed at the Post/Forward/Center positions for their Freshman season at whichever high school they are attending. Each person listed for the most part is standing at a height over 6'0 already and with that natural size, everybody is someone that could make a difference at the Varsity level before you know it.

[player_tooltip player_id='957815' first='Lydia' last='Hansen'] is going to put up numbers this Winter at the Varsity level if given a fair shot and she continues to work up until her season begins. Hansen will come in and be listed as one of her program's tallest players on roster right off the bat, with the ability to grow into a polished product before you know it. She is going to stand out defensively with her long reach and quick reaction time near the paint, while also being vital in the rebounding and scoring department as well. It may take her a few games to catch her rhythm but before you know it, Hansen could be a house hold name for her program moving into the future. She just needs to keep up her motivation and high motor. If she does that with her size, who knows where she might find herself when it comes to the collegiate floor in four years.

The biggest deciding factor that I think [player_tooltip player_id='880911' first='Victoria' last='Burpo'] is going to run into at the high school level is playing her position. If Burpo locks in to dominate with her size within 15FT of the hoop and works off of that, she could end up being one of the best Post players out of the 2028 Class before her high school career comes to a close. Her size, physicality, awareness, and willingness to get down the floor or pass out to an open shooter demonstrates how good she could really be. If she has the correct guidance, is used in the proper ways, all while expanding what she is good at, then she is going to put together four memorable seasons with Waukee NW.

[player_tooltip player_id='913222' first='Julia' last='Van Keuren'] is someone out of this 2028 Class that is going to have a chance to turn into a productive contributor over her high school career if she stays on her current path. VanKeuren brings lengthy arms, a better than average motor, and some solid coordination to whatever team she is competing with. As you can imagine, in the middle she can step up and block smaller opponents shot attempts or she can stay down against a bigger opponent and wall up to get a stop if need be. Not to mention, she has a sweet shooting stroke offensively. I'm not sure if she is going to see big time Varsity minutes this Winter with her Waukee High School team as they do return a lot from last season but as long as Van Keuren is patient enough, she should get her opportunity to make a difference, sooner rather than later.

The West Marshall Trojans are going to take this upcoming season by storm, returning this Winter in attempts to put together a rememberable season for all of their upperclassmen that will be participating. Someone out of their 2028 Class that will be coming in, who could be a big key to their success in the upcoming years is Forward, [player_tooltip player_id='920270' first='Kinley' last='Johnston']. Johnson will take the high school floor at 6'0 and look to do some damage in anyways possible. Honestly, with this team's scoring ability and who they will have on that side of things, it's not crazy to think that Johnston will get a lot of open looks by the hoop because of how well they create off the dribble as a group. That's if she ends up seeing the Varsity floor this upcoming Winter. If not, she will continue to push through, work on her game, and be ready for her number to be called. She understands this is a process and in the end, she has to trust that over everything else.

With the competition level that will be retuning to Camanche's conference this season and who they have returning to the roster themselves, PF - [player_tooltip player_id='896412' first='Jenna' last='Dunlap'] should see the Varsity floor almost immediately for the Storm. Dunlap is coming off of a respectable AAU season with her [program_tooltip program_id='712577' first='Iowa' last='Prep'] program and she is looking to build off of that over the next couple of years. As of most recent, Camanche hasn't had a ton of producers on the offensive side of the ball so Dunlap is going to be their spark in a lot of ways and I'm sure she will put up positive numbers in a few different statistical categories before the Spring of 2025 comes around.
