Around the State: Abbeville-Greenwood Counties

Autumn averaged 19.2 ppg and 4.1 rebounds last season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='387010' first='Alexis' last='Sanders']</strong> will provide some production in the lineup. Sanders averaged 6.2 ppg and 9.5 rebounds last season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Cambridge Academy</strong> <strong>(Greenwood)</strong>: Several seniors graduated and moved on from a Cougars (15-9) team from a season ago. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":991218,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2024/09/IMG_9195.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-991218" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Emerald HS (Greenwood)</strong>: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='563335' first='Jurnee' last='Williams']</strong> will carry the burden here for Emerald HS this season. Williams just a freshman this season has plenty of varsity experience. Jurnee averaged 7.8 ppg last season as an 8th grader. She recently played in the Prep Girls Freshman Showcase. Junior <strong>Ryonna Talbert</strong> will add some help to the the Lady Vikings this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":826433,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/12/IMG_6718.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-826433" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Greenwood HS</strong>: The Lady Eagles will rely on the services of <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='438236' first='Cameron' last='Oliver']</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='438237' first='Danielle' last='Oliver']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='436756' first='Ty' last='Johnson']</strong> this season. The Lady Eagles finished (22-6) and were led by this trio of Juniors on the hardwood. Junior guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='438236' first='Cameron' last='Oliver'] </strong>averaged 9.7 ppg last season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='438237' first='Danielle' last='Oliver']</strong> really stuffed the stat sheet at 14.7 ppg, 4.7 rebounds, 4.6 steals and 3.2 assists. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='436756' first='Ty' last='Johnson']</strong> a left-handed forward added 9.6 ppg and 7 rebounds a outing. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Greenwood Christian</strong>: Greenwood Christian is playing up in SCISA Class 3A despite having an enrollment of roughly 140 students. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='600162' first='Audrey' last='Federe']</strong> is a junior forward with some really good footwork around the paint. Audrey isn't known by many outside of the Northwestern corner of the Palmetto State. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Ware Shoals HS</strong>: The Lady Hornets finished (7-15) a season ago. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='873916' first='Stella' last='Eichhorn'] </strong>averaged 10.6 ppg and 11.8 rebounds last season as a freshman. Look for Senior <strong>Jayme Boyd</strong> to add some production to the purple and gold lineup this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
