Saturday, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana held its annual Freshman Showcase to help identify several of the state's top Freshmen. With 90 prospects from the 2028 class in attendance, this provided an opportunity to see them compete head-to-head, as well as together, in a combination of 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games. Below is a look at six additional playmakers who I felt stood out when I had the chance to see them. We will have additional articles later this week highlighting every prospect who was in attendance.

Serenity is a nonstop ball of energy, with speed and quickness, bounce, plus nice length at her height. Not only does she push the ball up the floor with pace, but she also understands how to change speeds, change directions, and slice through gaps in the defense. She will need to eventually get stronger to absorb contact through the lane, but she is going to be a problem immediately for opponents on the LCA schedule. I also enjoyed her feistiness on defense.

Haven is a very strong, broad-shouldered, and physical point guard prospect for her age. She does a nice job of playing with lowered shoulders and is an aggressive North/South athlete who can get through the defense. She has good all-around skill, she sees the floor well, plus she can knock down an open shot. I'm not sure where she fits in as a Freshman at New Palestine, but I feel like she could be impactful as a rookie at the 3A level.

Somehow, I managed to miss Kenna all Spring and Summer, so it was good to see her Saturday. She is a long, wiry, smooth, and fluid point guard prospect. She does a nice job of taking care of the basketball, getting her team organized, and finding the open teammate. She can also get to the basket or knock down an open shot. I think once she gets a little stronger, she will be a more consistent multilevel scorer, making her that much more dangerous.

I saw Amelia in May, and while smaller, she is a very skillful point guard prospect. She has nice length at her height, speed and quickness, and she plays with a nice motor. I feel like she can fit a variety of offenses, because she has some touch outside, she can attack the basket and create for others, and she can get to the rim to finish. She's also an effortful and aware defender who does a nice job defending the ball or offering help from the weak side.

Saturday offered me my first opportunity to see Jaida, and she was fun to watch. She is extremely quick and fast, she has an explosive first step, plus she has a wiry-strong frame at her height, so she absorbs contact fairly well as a smaller guard. She is a blur in transition, she finds gaps and collapses defenses, and she's unselfish and finds open teammates. She's also a problem defending the ball, because she can get "under" most ball-handlers and get them loose.

Paired with fellow rookie [player_tooltip player_id='990043' first='Leanah' last='Hyatt'] at Lawrence Central, the two form a nice, young backcourt that will have an opportunity to learn and grow a lot this season before it's their turn. Aaliyah is extremely long, wiry, fluid, and quick. She has some creativity off the bounce, she can create her own shot, but she can also find teammates. She is a problem in passing lanes defensively, but she can also sit down and defend the ball effectively.
