I’ve enjoyed watching LeAnah’s game develop over the past year and a half, and each time I see her, she shows another layer of improvement. Her toughness on the defensive end has always been one of her defining traits, and she brought that same grit in Lawrence Central’s matchup against Fort Wayne Snider—finishing with 12 points in the win. What stood out most this time was her growth as a consistent shooter. Since her freshman season, LeAnah has expanded her perimeter game while maintaining her natural ability to get downhill and finish through contact. That combination of improved shooting, attacking ability, and defensive intensity makes her one of the most well-rounded young guards in her class. With three more years of high school basketball ahead of her, LeAnah is positioning herself to become one of the top guards in the Metropolitan Conference and one of the strongest prospects in the 2028 class. Her trajectory continues to trend upward, and she’s becoming a true leader for Lawrence Central.

LeAnah competed at full throttle and used every ounce of her athleticism to make a giant impact for Team 4 at the Sophomore ID Camp. She grabbed many defensive rebounds and immediately pushed the ball with both hands the other direction to create transition scoring opportunities. LeAnah took the ball coast to coast for a floater and used an explosive crossover to drive by for a layup. Her full-speed closeouts caused deflections, and she climbed the ladder to block a shot. LeAnah accelerated down the lane to score off the glass and sprinted in to score an offensive rebound put back. She handled the ball effectively with both hands, kept her eyes up, and made excellent passes to open teammates for assists when the help defense committed to her dribble. LeAnah contributed in every category and earned recognition as a Top Performer.

LeAnah is poised to make a name for herself at Lawrence Central as part of the program’s talented young core. Quick, athletic, and shifty with the ball, she brings playmaking ability and energy to the floor. Last season, she starred on the JV team, helping lead the Bears to a Marion County championship. Her transition to high school basketball has been accelerated by learning from standout teammates Laila Abdurraqib and

Leanah is an extremely long and wiry guard with a lot of speed, quickness, and the ability to change directions at a moment’s notice. She has an incredibly quick first step that is difficult to defend, plus she manages to avoid most contact. She looks like she could still grow multiple inches, and as she adds strength to her frame, the consistency in her game should only improve. She also has plenty of talent to develop into a terrific on-ball defender.
