A lot of players brought their A-game to the Expo. I saw great point guard play, great athletes at the power forward position, some elite defenders, some downhill attackers, and many other players who stood out in various categories. In this article, I highlight the top 5 shooters that I saw at the Expo.

[player_tooltip player_id='249395' first='Jazlyn' last='Bowman'] came to play and she put on a shooting expedition for the ages. I saw the young guard over the summer at the FABC Showcase but didn't know this was part of her skillset until the Expo. Bowman connected on three-pointers from all over the court. Bowman is a natural and confident shooter., who can shoot off of the catch but is even deadlier with shooting off of the dribble. She has good handles and has the ability to put a defender on their heels. Once she gets a defender on their heels, she shoots in great rhythm and with a very quick release. Bowman consistently knocks down the three, and when the ball comes off of her hand, you feel like it's going in every time. She has a quick release and a very smooth and fluid shooting motion.

[player_tooltip player_id='1038052' first='Adrianna' last='Skraban'] was one of the top shooters and scorers in the building. The Senior guard definitely has a scorer's mentality and a little "dog" in her as well. She started off a little slow, but once she got it going, she couldn't miss. What makes her three-point shooting impressive is her ability to shoot it at any juncture (set offense or transition). Skraban also had a nice midrange game. She handles the ball and can stop and pull up with great efficiency. Skraban also does a good job of reading the floor, does a good job of running to her spot and catching and shooting the Tre. At the Expo, she did all of the above and her ability to lead on the floor, makes Skraban a deadly weapon shooter on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='880384' first='Jada' last='Clardy'] was indeed one of the top shooters in the building, and she, by far, was the smoothest player on the floor. Many coaches and writers in the building shared that sentiment. Clardy's shooting was also an attention-getter. Her ability to get to the rim and finish from any angle makes her perimeter shooting that much more dangerous. She must have made her first 6 or 7 threes before missing. She stood out in the half-court setting with her ability to drive and hang in the air. Her rock-the-cradle reverse layup was the shot of the day, and her three-point shooting also had the people talking and the writers writing.

[player_tooltip player_id='219786' first='Kennedy' last='Deal'] was my top performer of the event, and that says much because her AAU teammate could have walked away with the honor as well. Deal has the ability to play all five positions on the court. Defensively, she beat players to the point of attack and just shut it down with blocked shots, strength, agility, etc. She was fast as the guards, strong as all the power forwards, and shot the ball as well as all of the shooting guards and wings in the building. She was the "Real Deal". Ok, let's get back to the shooting. Deal's three-point shooting was off the charts. At first glance, she was attacking the rim, and it was apparent she would be "eating" in the paint and in transition all day at the Expo. Then she started lighting it up from the three-point line, and it was apparent that she would be leaving "bodies' all over the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1036663' first='Bryonna' last='Grimes'] is a name you are starting to hear a lot about and it's warranted. The young guard can flat-out shoot the ball. Grimes started out a little "star-struck" and then realized that she could play with the girls from down south and west Florida. Grimes shoots the three with great rhythm and confidence. Once she settled in and her teammates started expecting her to shoot it, her production went up tenfold. Grimes and Gaines are going to be a tough tandem this year and Grimes will be expected to let fly- like she did at the Expo.
