Oklahoma Freshman Showcase Team 4 breakdown

Team 4 had a great mixture of guards and versatile forwards that could handle the ball and also provide an inside presence as well. I believe all these players will complete for playing time or could even earn a starting spot in their high school programs. Except for the 2029 of course. Check them out! A combo guard that has nice handles and change of speed as the point guard. Showed a nice step back three in 3 on 3 play. Gritty defender that crashed the board and had no issues getting on the flor for a 50/50 ball. Great ball handling with a nice shifty crossover that had the defender taking steps backwards. Tough match up when she has the outside going because of her first blow by step off the dribble. Nice step through footwork on the layup to split the defense for the score. First impression was in 3 on 3 play when she grabbed 3 straight offensive rebounds til she finally got the putback in. The same grit continued in 5 on 5 as she continued to crash the boards for easy scoring putbacks. Tough down hill driver from the wing that showed a nice swing step through for the finish. Good solid defender that fought among the taller post players.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Great movement on offense cutting back door when overplayed. A foul magnet in play that continued to find herself at the free throw line. Nice movement on offense keeping proper spacing. Good footwork on the catch and shoot. Strong cuts off the ball through the paint looking for the ball. At 6'0 she is a match up problem for a guard cause she demonstrated strong post up skills. When a post guarded Mika she stretched the defender by knocking down the outside shot. A high level player that could be on coaches radar during her freshman season. In 3 on 3 she played more back to the basket showing nice up and under moves to get her defender up in the air. During 5 on 5 play she showed more of the 3 position at time handling the ball. Nice mid range jumper that at times extended beyond the arch. Really liked the way she ran the floor getting out ahead presenting a long target to pass ahead for an easy score. Like the fact that she pushed the ball as deep as possible looking for the fastbreak basket. If not there made smart decision and wheeled it out to set up the offense. Demonstrated patience in the 2 man game waiting tor the defense to commit before passing to the rolling post.
