Freshman year is in the books. Now that you kind of got a feel for what high school life is going to be like, you can settle in a bit. The 2027 class comes in with a lot of hype around it. Of course you all know the headliners, the girls who rank at the top of the class. Yet, this class has quality depth on the back end. What do I mean you might ask? Girls who aren't just role players, but will find their footing now that they will be on the court more. Yes, they will have a role per se, but it will be increased significantly. They will play a major piece of their club's success and it doesn't necessarily mean scoring, but other things that will help their club win ball games.

What I like about this 2027 class is that they are resilient and some tough competitors. These kids don't back down nor do they care who they are facing. When the ball tips off, they get after it. Many of these girls play year round and have had success not only in high school, but on the travel ball circuit as well. Due to their experience, they are bringing what they have learned as well as that same momentum they've had over the course of the year into the new year and they are ready to ball out. Given a chance, these girls will rise above and be significant contributors for their ball clubs.

All across the state, you are starting to see the maturation process of these young ladies in the 2027 class. They are hungry. They want more. These kids are just wired differently in my opinion. They are ready to take this sophomore year and build upon the foundation that they laid last year. Now that year 1 is under their belt, I expect this year to be a little bit better and then take off from there. Sure there will be bumps in the road, but these girls are resilient and will rise above.

[player_tooltip player_id='821709' first='Lilly' last='Woodruff'] (5'8/So./G/ Sweetwater)- Athletic guard who can shoot the rock with ease. Can pull it from all three levels. Versatile kid who stars not only on the hardwood, but add volleyball and softball as well. Her dynamic skill sets enable her to utilize many intangibles to get by defenders. She competes on every possession. Challenges the opposition on both ends of the floor. From scoring to rebound to defending, she's going to give full maximum effort and make sure she comes out on top. Solid kid who is an excellent two-way player and contributes in many statistical categories. Look for her stock to jump up this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='821997' first='Zaria' last='Moss'] (5'7/So./G/ Arlington)- Dual sport athlete that plays with a high motor. A downhill threat who has a nice mid-range game that compliments her ability to finish around the rim. Yes she can shoot that thing from the arc, but getting a paint touch is what she does best. Oh, and she's a heady floor general, dropping dimes in transition. I love her ability to anticipate on the defensive end, she's jumping gaps, taking away possessions from the opposition. Solid kid who will continue to get better and be a pivotal component to the Arlington's attack.

[player_tooltip player_id='822241' first='Charity' last='Relliford'] (5'11/So./F/ White Station)- Athletic forward who loves to compete. Has a nice mid-range shot on her but facing up to the basket and finishing in the paint is her go to. She's in attack mode and will challenge anyone in her way. A selfless ball player who always seems to be at the right spot at the right time. On D, she's a go-getter, owning the boards. She blocks shots, dives after loose balls, and wins the 50/50 war. Solid basketball player who will look to build upon her success from last year.

[player_tooltip player_id='822230' first='Brooklyn' last='Lowry'] (5'10/So./F/ Brentwood Academy)- This will be her year to have a breakthrough. She's a gym rat who a) loves the process of getting better. b) has taken strides over the years to perfect her craft. Yes, she can pull it from the arc, but the mid-range and the blocks is where she makes her money. High-post, short corner, around the blocks, she uses her strength and goes through the opposition. Can be effective in the pick n'roll game and pick n' pop situations. So she has versatility when it comes to that. She is an all around player that contributes in everything. Rebounds, steals, blocks, you name it. She is a heady ball player who gets better every time she steps onto the floor. Solid kid who will continue to grow.

[player_tooltip player_id='822235' first='Jane' last='Ellis'] (6'0/So./F/ CPA)- Coming off of an injury, I will say she is back where she was. She's confident and once she gets 100%, it's gonna be a scary thing for opponents. A versatile kid who can play inside and out. She knows how to utilize her body to get the shots she wants. She can pull it from anywhere on the court, but just know she has counter moves after counter moves which are hard to stop. Jane is solid on the defensive end. She rebounds, blocks shots, rotates well to be in position to take charges. She's getting better and once she is back at full strength, CPA will be even more dangerous. A solid kid who has a bright future.
