NOVA Preseason Junior team: Public School

She ended up being second-team all-state and made her way into the rankings. What she does as a POA defender for a great defensive team goes a long way. She is a great ball handler, and I could see her taking on even more offensive responsibility. There are a lot of elite guards in this class, and I could very easily see her rising the rankings again this year.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>HM [player_tooltip player_id='719276' first='Claire' last='Kang']<br>Centreville lost two starting guards after making a state semifinal, and one of the players I expect to take on some of that responsibility is [player_tooltip player_id='719276' first='Claire' last='Kang']. Claire had a good freshman year, then was reverted to more of a bench role her sophomore year. Claire is a great ball-handler and passer. She is quick and does a good job attacking the rim. Claire has had a great summer and should have a fantastic season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>HM [player_tooltip player_id='722607' first='Laila' last='Tull']<br>[player_tooltip player_id='722607' first='Laila' last='Tull'] had some huge scoring outputs for South County last season. Laila is a great shooter from the mid-range and three. She does a great job as a driver and finishes from many tough angles. Laila is a plus defender on a fantastic defensive team with South County. She was second-team all-state last year and should be in contention for an all-state team again.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>HM [player_tooltip player_id='376329' first='Madison' last='Nicholson']&nbsp;<br>[player_tooltip player_id='376329' first='Madison' last='Nicholson']'s transfer to Gainesville should work for her and the team. She will finally get a chance to have a more defined role on a good team. Madison will contribute to this team on both sides of the ball, and she could potentially rise back up the rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>HM [player_tooltip player_id='816705' first='Alexandra' last='Wilson']<br>[player_tooltip player_id='816705' first='Alexandra' last='Wilson'] is a force in the paint. She is someone you can dump the ball down to and get points. Alexandra is a monster on the glass on both ends and will rack up double-doubles this year. Chantilly improved last year from the year prior, and I expect them to improve again this year. Alivia is a great scorer and has a fantastic basketball IQ. She has great quickness and is becoming a knockdown shooter. Alivia will rise the rankings even more than she already has, and I think she is one of the more under-scouted players in the area. Samia is an elite shooter and has a great handle. Samia does a great job getting in the paint, and she knows how to finish through people. Samia is quick and has a high basketball IQ. The competitiveness Samia plays with always catches my eye. Keyarah is a top ten player in the state for 2026 and the best player on one of the best teams in the state. Keyarah is as good as anyone when it comes to slashing. She is a great passer, and her ability to create turnovers helps her show off her ability to transition. From Peyton's first game, you could tell how impactful she was defensively. Peyton is a great athlete and can guard multiple positions. Peyton is an outstanding interior defender and one of the top defenders in the state. This summer Eve went from being unranked to being a top 25 player for 2026. Eve will be a go-to option for Washington Liberty out of the post. Eve has great size, but she uses much more than that to get her buckets in the paint. She has a nice hook and a mid-range jump shot. She does a good job driving to her right and finishing. Eve does a fantastic job on the glass and is a terrific interior defender. Eve will have a big year for a solid Washington-Liberty team. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
