ND Class AA EDC Preview – West Fargo Sheyenne Mustangs

The Mustangs will have a different look, but I predict that Sheyenne will have a nice season, with many players returning that played valuable varsity minutes. Cora is a true 6'4 and provides tremendous value to the Mustangs. She is an outstanding defender, hardly ever leaving her feet to block shots. She does a great job of positioning herself to defend without fouling. The Omaha volleyball commit will have a great season, improving her rebounding along with a more efficient scoring average. She has the ability to defend multiple positions and is a good rebounder. Callen has worked tirelessly this offseason to improve her game. I look for Callen to be a pivotal piece to the Mustangs success on both sides of the floor. The one thing I like most about Evie is her competitive nature. She is a gamer and not afraid to knock down the shot in the big moments. Her improvement is impressive and she has become so much more skilled than previous seasons. She has high expectations for herself and her squad this season. The Jamestown Jimmie commit will be a solid player for Sheyenne this season. I was impressed watching her improvement last season and look for her to take that into a successful second varsity season. She is a terrific golfer and the mental toughness required to be a good golf translates nicely into basketball.
