Huntland Lady Hornets: Rising Stars of Basketball

Last year, this club hit a rough patch, however they have come out this season with a vengeance, displaying a balanced attack, showing opponents that there is a new era in Lady Hornets basketball. This club has awesome senior leadership and a bright future with two young studs who will be tearing up the district for years to come.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Led by Coach Prince, this ball club plays tenacious defense and brings a solid offensive system that allows the to score the ball in multiple ways. Any given night, there could be a different high point scorer, however, each young lady who dons the Lady Hornets uni, can bring something significant to the table. This club is thirsty for success. They know they are right at the cusp of breaking through. They have taken a few lumps early this season, but have shown growth in the way they have handled that adversity and bounced back. At the time of this writing, they are 6-5, losing some very close battles by a few possessions here and there. She can stretch the floor offensively, being an offensive threat along the arc as well as within the interior. Can knock down the mid-range jumper, but finish around the rim against contact. Defensively she is solid, staying in front, making the opposition work for everything to get a bucket. She contributes on the boards and always seems to have her hands in the passing lanes. She may not be the primary ball handler, but she has tight dribbles that enable her the ability to put it on the floor and finish around the rim. She has a bevy of counter moves that she unleashes as she attacks the gaps. She can pull it from all 3 levels, just know giving her space is a mistake. She contributes on the defensive end. Being active on the ball and in gaps. Look for her to have a solid freshman season and continue to build upon this solid foundation she has laid. Has been battle tested, she is a hungry individual who is a grinder. Can score from multiple spots on the floor, it's her ability to be physical and use her size that sets her apart on the offensive end. Solid ball handler who is trusted by the coaching staff to run the offensive system with efficiency. She makes timely passes, knocks down open shots, and can get down hill to score at the rim. Defensively she is going to keep her opponent in front, pressuring them into either turnovers, making quick decisions, but basically disrupting their offense any chance she gets.
