<p>The Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Player of the Week Award is given to one student-athlete among many deserving candidates who demonstrates excellence during a week of their team's competition. The winner contributes to their team's success in multiple statistical categories to help their team compete to their best potential. Several players were nominated, but only one can be selected. Those who were submitted and not chosen as Player of the Week receive recognition as Player of the Week Honorable Mention. Players who were not nominated for Player of the Week are not eligible to receive consideration as POTW or Honorable Mention. Here are the girls who had a magnificent first week of the season and it's time to celebrate their accomplishments! </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">In two games, Alesia led the team in multiple statistical categories, with 44 points, 19 rebounds, 7 steals, 7 blocks, and 7 assists. The Hawks defeated Sanford Meridian 58-42 and the defending State Champs West Bloomfield 79-53. Alesia's well-rounded contributions were essential to the Hawks success this week and earned her the Dec. 1-7 Michigan Player of the Week Award.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Keira set the Saline school record for 3-pointers made in a career on Friday, shooting an efficient 5 for 8 from beyond the arc (10/18 this week). Keira has now made 148 triples in her career with nearly two full high school seasons left to chase state records. Keira produced 37 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals this week as the Hornets defeated 2024 OAA Red Champs Birmingham Seaholm 51-37 and Livonia Stevenson 59-28.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Brooklyn became the lead point guard this season for Macomb Dakota and she is excelling in her new role. Brooklyn had an outstanding week producing 36 points, 11 steals, and 6 assists. The Cougars went 1-1 this week with a big 50-31 opening win against Oxford. </p>
