Hidden Gems Within ’27 Ranks

One word that comes to mind when I think about this class. It's not that this word is designed to correlate to an exact quality. I guess it could. Where I am going with it is that every single person on this list is unique in their own special way. They bring something to the table that is beneficial to their ball club. It could be something simple or it could be something that could be deemed difficult to do. No matter what it is, they star in it and in this class you have tons of girls who are just that.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When I think about the 27 class, they may not be the X factor on their ball club just yet, but they are on the cusp of breaking through. They play their role and they do it well. Their contributions are impactful, spreading throughout all four quarters. You may or may not spot them out during warmups, however during the course of the game you can feel their presence. Like I said, special. Big guard who can work inside the painted area or snipe you out from the arc. She has taken her area by storm and you can tell she has been in the lab working on her craft. Her game speaks volumes as she excels nightly against opponents who come out to slow her down. This kid is still growing. Her confidence is there. She is playing comfortably. She is competing on both ends of the floor. Look for her to continue on this trajectory. The Little Engine that could. This kid just goes and goes like the energizer bunny. Doesn't matter the opponent, she is going to spot their weakness and exploit it. Can spot up or create off the dribble, this kid shows up to show out no matter the setting. Plays with “country grit” she will outmuscle the opposition to get to favorable spots. She is a tone setter, a go-getter, someone you would want to have on your squad. This kid comes to play and does so on both ends. She will check all the statistical boxes. Yes,she is a team player. Keep in mind though she is someone who is going to scorch the bottom of the net. This young lady is a beast around the painted area. Can contribute in the screen game, work the high-low action, either way, she puts the ball in the hole. On the defensive end she is going to anchor the middle. Block shots, control the boards, this kid is going to be a tremendous asset and a difference maker. CPA was a final 4 team last year. With her on the floor, this club has the tools to go further. Once the switch is flipped, this young lady is going to be a huge factor for the Lady Burros. Six foot kid who is a big guard. She can play in the painted area, however she can knock it down from the arc. Her ball handling is improving and her ability to create off the dribble is also gaining steam. You can see the determination in her eyes and her will to get better. It may not be this year but next year, everyone is going to know who she is. Currently she is being battle tested around here. Let her get through a summer on the circuit and experience that. She will come back ready to whoop tail for sure then. This kid is solid and on an upwards trajectory. A swiss army knife who can do a multitude of things. Scoring wise she can light it up from the arc consistently, unleash a nice mid-range jumper, or bully around the block and finish off two. Defensively she is long where she gets deflections, block shots, and will occasionally poke balls away from opponents who are “lossy goosy” with the ball. She contributes on the boards, which is another feather in her cap. Something that most don't get her credit for is her ability to handle the ball. She can shoot off the dribble as well as grab a board and push the ball up the floor in transition.
