Meet the Rising Stars of the 2028 Basketball Class

These girls do work and they bring it every single night. Sure, there was a learning curve, a little lull to get acclimated to the physicality and speed of the game. However, now that we are more than halfway through the season, the cream is starting to rise to the top.   What I like about this 2028 class is that these girls have been battle tested for some time now. A lot of girls have been doing work on the circuit, some playing up a grade level or two, just a bunch of grinders who excel at their craft. These girls know how to get buckets, lock up on the defensive end, and just control the pace of the game. They are difference makers, gamechangers, girls who love this game and will be using the sport as a platform to get somewhere. Mark my words, this is one of the better classes in a long time that is pretty stout from top to bottom.   As we continue to dive into the rankings, I would like to bring to you the 5-10 young ladies who were mentioned in the 2028 rankings.    This young lady's game has grown tremendously. She has put in the work and when the lights come on, it most definitely shows. This three level scoring threat can handle the rock, get to favorable spots on the floor, play with the ball or off the ball, turn around on the defensive end and get after it. She is truly passionate about the game and her style of play can coincide in multiple types of offenses. She's a gamer and you better believe she is going to give you a multiple point night every time she steps onto the floor.     This kid controls the pace of the game well. Can handle the rock. A heady ball player who sees the floor well. She can get a bucket whenever and wherever on the floor. This kid is smart, an extension of the coaching staff, she recognizes a weakness in the defense and exploits it. She's a plus plus defender who locks up on the defensive end. Can pick up full or in the half court, either way she gives the opposition fits. Great kid who has yet reached her ceiling.     Big guard who is solid on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she can play on the interior, but has a sweet stroke from the arc where she can knock it down from a consistent clip. Defensively she is active, getting steals, contributing on the boards, blocking shots. This kid keeps adding tools to her game. Look for her to be a force to be reckoned with down the stretch.     Playing with tons of confidence, this kid is scorching the bottom of the net at a consistent clip. She's jumped on the high school scene putting up impressive numbers against district foes. Knocking down shots from three, coming off picks and pulling up, getting to the rim, this kid is making the Owl's nest a happening place. Look for her to continue to thrive and gain eyes from collegiate coaches.     She's a shooting star! Someone who is taking off in the Memphis area. This kid is fearless and is challenging opponents on both ends of the floor. She knows how to go out and get a bucket and does so at a high clip. Taking someone off the dribble, pulling up, she is going to find the bottom of the net on the offensive end. I'll add this as well, she let's her D do the talking as she gets after it, getting transition buckets from steals and deflections. She's a gamer. Look for this kid to have a stellar career in the high school ranks.
