When we originally highlighted [player_tooltip player_id='880903' first='Addie' last='McLaughlin'] coming into this Winter, we spoke about how she could be a game changer at the varsity level with her Regal's program. So far this all seems to be going to plan. McLaughlin is a compete difference maker, that can lead her team to a lot of success looking at the big picture over the next 3.5 years. If you look at any of the top stats for the 2A class right now, McLaughlin usually falls within the Top 5, if not the Top 10 in most things and that's a promising start. The Regals should have a good shot to make the State Tournament in a few weeks and if they do that, McLaughlin's name is going to blow up right in front of our eyes when she is playing in front of the entire state.

We recently had a mention [player_tooltip player_id='582830' first='Lynnae' last='Green'] of Shenandoah High School because of her impressive rebounding numbers over the start of the season. When you compare these numbers to others in her Class, it's not even close to a competition. Green has almost 100 more rebounds than the next prospect in the conversation and that just speaks to what she can bring to the floor the rest of this season. Not to mention at the next level. It's going to all come down to how she is used and her working on the correct things moving forward but she if can do that, watch out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1160666' first='Josie' last='Hutcheson'] of Mediapolis High School has been racking up the numbers in the assist and steals category of the stat book. Hutcheson, is a mixture of a CG and a SF with the type of way that she competes on the hardwood. She is pretty skilled in multiple aspects of the game and that shows whenever she competes for her Mediapolis team. She isn't the only one putting up good numbers for her squad but her's do seem to be a little more impressive than most. Throughout her team's first 15 games, they sit at 14-1, while Hutcheson has 98 assists and 90 steals, giving her a top spot in the state in each of those categories from an overall perspective thus far. Production is something you can't deny and there is a lot of production happening here.

The Solon Spartans are a team that is trying to find a new identity this Winter with the loss of their star from last season, Callie Levin. With this situation comes a lot of opportunity and someone that has done a great job of stepping up in those opportunities is guard, [player_tooltip player_id='766449' first='Delainey' last='Durr']. Durr is a top leader in the state in 3 pointers made, while shooting from behind the arc at a 38% clip to lead the Spartans in PPG with just over 16. Durr is more than just a shooter though. She is a PG, that understands how to create for others on a regular basis. She just also understands how to make an open shot when the chances present themselves and that is something others could learn from.

[player_tooltip player_id='582833' first='Paige' last='Rummans'] maybe an Illinois State Softball commit but she is a multiple sport athlete, that understands what she does best and where she thrives on the basketball court. Rummans is an athletic 5'10, that has a non-stop motor while looking to rebound. As of right now, Rummans is another individual that is a top leader in the state for total rebounds on the season so far with 233 in 16 games. To be able to rebound you need agile movement, heart, and ideally - height. That's what we have here and the numbers reflect that. I'm sure at the next level that Rummans is going to be a natural for the Redbirds on the diamond but before that, she is going to end things off on a positive note over these next couple of weeks.
