February Rankings Update: '25 Killer Combo Guards

We have reached the end of an era. The final month of the 2024-25 season is upon us, which means the 2025 class has reached the final stretch of their high school careers. Our final rankings update includes 479 seniors with a multitude of new additions who we evaluated over the past few months. This class has provided us with many exciting moments during the travel and high school seasons. We hope to see many prospects continue their basketball career at a college program after graduation. Keep reading to learn more about the combo guards who caught our attention the past few months and considerably rose in the ranks of our final 2025 update.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rankings Risers</h2>    There have been several 1,000-point scorers across the state this season, but Halen accomplished the rare feat of surpassing 2,000 points during a 57-44 win against Gladwin on Friday. She is the only player in boy's or girl's history at Sanford Meridien to score 2,000 points in a career. Halen is a bulldog inside with perimeter accuracy that turned into seven triples against Harrison. Her perimeter shooting, quality footwork, passing precision, aggressive defense, strong rebounding, and tough finishing will be a welcomed addition to the Lake State program next season.   <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2024/10/division-3-returning-standouts-2/">Read More About Halen</a>     Brandywine is undefeated with the #1 ranking in D3, according to MHSAA, and Miley plays a crucial role in their success. She bottles up ball-handlers with her aggressive defense and turns steals into transition points. Miley shifts into top gear when she pushes the ball toward the basket and finishes effectively with either hand off two feet. Her determined effort leads to many rebounds and she finds ways to deliver accurate passes to teammates for assists. Miley was clutch in the '24 postseason as the Bobcats clawed their way to the state finals and they'll fight to make it back in '25. Her shooting percentage increased in multiple categories this season, which is a testament to her hard work in the gym refining her technique. The team improved their previous 6-12 record to 11-5 in the CMAC this season. Lydia has excellent balance and mechanics on her shot, but also scores inside using effective pivoting footwork. She accelerates to score layups off the dribble, dishes strong passes to teammates, and works hard to secure rebounds. She has made six and seven 3-pointers in games multiple times this season. Stella celebrated senior night with a 50-31 win on Friday and passed 1,000 career points. She has shifty crossover moves and a quick catch and release perimeter jumper off the hop. Stella earned All-Catholic Honors and is a guard D3/NAIA/JUCO programs in the state should be asking about.      Deziray has heart, length, athleticism, and abilities that will make her an exciting addition to a college program after graduation. Deziray is a relentless shot-blocker and rebounder; she finishes strong takes to the basket through contact and drops in 3-pointers. Deziray is a game-changing distributor, tying the single-game school record for assists with 10 before breaking the record against Bellevue with 11 to hold the record outright.
