Quarterfinal play opens Thursday so take a look below at the ten 2A centers and power forwards to know this post-season. Interestingly four battle each other frequently in the Heart of America League.

[player_tooltip player_id='779209' first='Nora' last='Burdiek'], 5'10", PF, Rossville, 2027 - Despite heading into the Valley Heights sub-state as a eight seed with nine wins, the Bulldogs have only one loss to another 2A team. And they just got Burdiek back from injury. With only eight games played this season she is averaging 17.6 points and 11.5 rebounds. She is also chipping in 4.3 assists and 3.3 steals. Athletic, long and having good speed with the ball finishing is and scoring around the paint are not just her thing. She has also shot 30% from three.

[player_tooltip player_id='773209' first='Kaitlyn' last='Folsom'], 6'0", PF, Maur Hill-Mount Academy, 2026 - The versatile, long-limbed power forward is as much a threat to score from the perimeter as she is attacking the basket or using a spin move inside. Her quickness and reach generates plenty of deflections and steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='773201' first='Morgan' last='Froese'], 5'11", PF, Inman, 2026 - Froese has size to her frame, especially in the lower body. And when I saw her in January against Berean Academy she used it well. She plays best when she works over the top defending inside versus playing from behind. She walls up well, is not easily moved with a bump move and smartly sets up opponents for a blocked shot without fouling. In transition, she runs well and has the athleticism to catch and finish on the fly.

[player_tooltip player_id='881007' first='Macy' last='Kaminkow'], 5'11", PF, Moundridge, 2026 - On a loaded team that has been ranked #2 most of the season Kaminkow is consistently one of the Wildcats' best players. One of five players averaging more than 7 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at just over 6 per game. Kaminkow is scoring at an astonishing 58% clip from the floor and sinking 60% of her free throws. She has solid transition speed, boxes and completes for rebounds well and can just wear her opponent out inside with her consistency.

Adrienne Mullins, 5'10", PF, Berean Academy, 2026 - Mullins is an important piece for the warriors. A capable scorer around the hoop and off mid-range jumpers what she especially does is draw contact trying to score. For the Warriors to be successful she needs make them at a 70% clip vs the 50% I saw. Mullins defends with physicality and her consistent transition play causes defenders to eventually make mistakes, creating scoring chances.

[player_tooltip player_id='773202' first='Emily' last='O'Brien'], 6'1", PF, Remington, 2026 - After a big sophomore year and summer O'Brien has emerged as one of the top small school post prospects in the state, generating offers from a couple D II schools. Her long wingspan, speed and lateral quickness are alone difficult for opponents to match up with. Now add hand speed, scoring ability from three point land and off power dribbles around the basket and strong posting up ability. You will not see many players better at defending the inbounds pass, just a knack for blocking and deflecting passes.

[player_tooltip player_id='773212' first='Julia' last='Schlessiger'], 6'2", Ellinwood, 2026 - 2024 Central Schlessiger might just be the best rim protector in division. With great size and length she reads plays and uses her lateral quickness to swat shots without fouling. A trait I really like is how well she boxes out. A shot goes up, textbook finds and makes opponents disappear when she sets the box-out.

[player_tooltip player_id='544027' first='Avery' last='Scott'], 6'0", PF/C, Stanton County, 2026 - Scott is the top post prospect in the classification, already holding several offers D I and D II offers. A very physical player, and she has to be because the constant double and triple teaming, she uses her body well to create space. She plays off two feet well, scores the ball with either hand, and has averaged a double-double her entire high school career. That physicality shows up on the defensive end as well. Scott anticipates plays for shot blocks and she will take people out creating space for the rebound. Shooting 44% from the floor Scott is scoring 14.8 points, collecting 15.1 rebounds and swatting 4 shots per game. She is also chipping in 3 steals and 2.2 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='934573' first='Kaylee' last='Weltmer'], 5'11", PF, Smith Center, 2028 - It is far from easy to come in as a freshman and stand out in the rough Mid-Continent League but Weltmer has. She has good overall size, switches well on interior post crosses, defends with physicality, reads plays well to get the shot block and plays with physicality on both ends. Through the 2025 season she is putting up good numbers, 8.8 points, 7.1 rebounds. 1.3 assists, 1.4 steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='621264' first='Madelyn' last='Wilson'], 6'2", C, Chase County, 2026 - Wilson is a center with good size. And while she is a walking double-double what stands out is her footwork around the basket and her transition speed. She is very nimble, jumps to rebounds, and scores well and fluidly in her mid-range and block game. Wilson is averaging 17.8 points and 11.9 rebounds.
