One of my favorite prospects to watch last AAU season was [player_tooltip player_id='758842' first='Lucy' last='Fierro'] of [program_tooltip program_id='714604' first='Omaha' last='Supreme Basketball']. Fierro is a smart PG that plays off of two feet, with balance and great pace of play. She is a guard that understands what she does best, how to control tempo, and what's the best for her team in important moments. This is your definition of a PG you want in your corner as a coach. She listens to what's going on in real time and she does a thorough job of leading by example. She is one of the best pass first PG's that Nebraska has out of the 2026 Class. If she gets a shot to compete at the next level, I'm sure she will make it worth it.

By the time that Skutt Catholic got into the Championship last week, [player_tooltip player_id='946938' first='Jenna' last='Benjamin'] was logging in consistent minutes on the Varsity floor while helping her team to a title. Benjamin, a 5'4 CG, is willing to do whatever is needed for her team to have success. She is one of those that doesn't look for credit, instead all she wants is everyone to feast together and that's a teammate that everyone loves to compete with. As a skill-set, Benjamin is discipline defensively and she is lock-down on most opposing guards she has had to face this Winter. Offensively she can get to her spots and finish at the bucket, she can facilitate for those around her, and she produce off the ball if need be as well. She is a stronger driver when determined and she seems to always make an impact when mentally locked in. This AAU season Benjamin will compete with OSA out of Omaha. She should join this roster as one of the most complete players. We will have to see where she can take things from there.

Someone said that [player_tooltip player_id='896737' first='Sonya' last='Guzinski'] had quite the State Tournament this past week for Oakland-Craig and I happen to agree. Guzinski, in one contest specifically hit 7 three pointers, tying the C2 State Tournament record. I would describe Guzinski's shot as lightning quick. When she is on the three point line, she is always ready to let it fly with her sunken stance and fast trigger. She has also proven that she can dribble going either way if the defense flys out at her shooting ability, along with possessing a nasty step-back going left off the dribble. This is a move that looks really clean while it's being performed and it usually goes in. It should be a great AAU season for a hooper like this. If she does what she is capable of and the right recruiting eyes are on her on the road, who knows who might scoop her up before her high school career comes to a close.

If you are just watching [player_tooltip player_id='654776' first='Lauren' last='Carlsen'] compete on an average basis, you can tell that she works hard to produce. Carlsen is someone at 5'10 that is willing to let it all go from all three offensive levels and she understands what to do when. She can catch and let it go from deep, she can dribble and hit a midrange floater, or she can get to the hoop for a post look against someone weaker in the post. Defensively, she can sit down low and wall up against someone her size or she can pop out and contest on the outside at a decent rate. I'm not sure which Attack team Carlsen will be on but whichever it is, she is sure to give it her all and let it fly over these next six months.

[player_tooltip player_id='890842' first='Bailee' last='Durant'] should have a nice Spring/Summer with her [program_tooltip program_id='715717' first='Nebraska' last='Supreme'] team. Durant is considered a knock-down shooter of the catch. She also has good size to finish at the bucket with her length if she so chooses. She is going to be surrounded by prospects this AAU season that know what they are doing. Prospects that have a good amount of ability at every position. This means Durant will play her natural SG position and that's why she is going to shine. I'll be in this AAU season to see this program compete and I'm expecting fireworks. They work hard and play the right way so it should be some good basketball to watch.
