2028 Rankings Finale: Promising Forwards

In this article, we close out the 2028 rankings with a look at some solid forwards who have the potential to be big players in the travel season. These players will also be very impactful on their respective high school teams. Some of these prospects played in the State Championships and some were instrumental on their high school teams' regular season last year.    [player_tooltip player_id='514916' first='Caeli' last='Weaver'] enters the 2028 rankings in a position to rise up as she continues to develop and meet the expectations. Weaver is a confident young player who can score onthe inside and has a fairly good midrange game. Weaver can also defend and has the ability to move her feet. She defends well on the perimeter and plays very well on the inside. Weaver can also shoot the ball from the perimeter, with an occasional three point shot form the four or five position.   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/04/DSC04514.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1237723" /></figure>     [player_tooltip player_id='766031' first='Bryce' last='Cherry'] is a young forward who caught my eye earlier this travel season at the Demetrius Richardson showcase. Cherry brought a lot of energy to both sides of the court. Her athleticism really stood out and her ability to get up and down the floor in the transition game was rather impressive. Cherry showed some nice footwork in the paint and the ability to score on the inside. The athletic forward also showed a nose for the ball when pursuing rebounds.     [player_tooltip player_id='934210' first='Kristyonna' last='Harris'] is a defensive specialist and one of the most toughest defenders in the 2028 class. Harris plays with great effort and really brings the energy to the defensive side of the ball. Harris has quick feet and can cover on the perimeter and can defend on the inside. Harris has very good timing on blocking shots. She is good on the ball and her help-side defense is where she is very good. Harris also chases down loose balls and is a workhorse on the offensive boards.     [player_tooltip player_id='1219107' first='Hannah' last='Caneus'] was a standout at a recent showcase and showed an ability to get the rebound and also score on the inside with "power." Caneus has some good footwork in the paint and showcased an ability to score. With her ability to move her feet, Caneus can defend on the perimeter as well as on the inside. She is also a good rebounder on both ends of the floor.     [player_tooltip player_id='1090912' first='Mamie' last='Burkett'] played well as a Freshman and carried that solid play all the way to the State playoffs. Burkett is a physical young player who loves to grind on the court and plays with an edge on both ends of the floor. Burkett can rebound the ball and she has the ability to do so on both sides of the ball. Burkett communicates well and she makes sure her teammates are in the right place on the court.
