On Saturday, April 19th, I drove to Powers Catholic High School for the [program_tooltip program_id='715753' first='Michigan' last='Mystics'] “Get Ready” tournament. This was a perfect opportunity to see Mystics' best 2026-2028 grades. A few clubs that I haven't had the chance to see yet this spring also attended, making it a productive day for evaluation. I bounced around between the aux and main gym throughout the day, trying to see portions of games from all the teams. Many college coaches were present at the facility, and because there are prospects on every Mystics team that can help a college program at some level, I always enjoy seeing their teams compete. Here are several guards who separated themselves on Saturday with their resolve on the court.

Mia is back with the Mystics, and she had a great showing for the 2027-P24 team at Get Ready. Everyone knows Mia can score. After two seasons, Mia is already Mio's leading scorer with over 1,600 points--claiming back-to-back D4 Player of the Year awards. Mia proved she could create shots for her highly skilled teammates on Saturday. She penetrated gaps and kicked the ball out to open teammates on the perimeter. Mia beat two trapping defenders with her left, forced the help to commit to her drive, then dished a no-look bounce pass to a teammate for an easy layup. Her strong and balanced stance makes her very effective finishing through contact. Mia converted several contested layups comfortably with both hands and was a ball hawk on defense. She pushed the ball with pace to score runouts and used excellent footwork to finish a step-through layup with her left hand after driving into a jump stop.

Mack was dynamic for Goonies 17U at the Mystics Get Ready tourney on Saturday. She split defenders with her quick crossovers and finished several tough layups through contact. Mack led her defenders into screens very well and abruptly turned the corner to drive north/south. She got the edge with a spin dribble and transferred the ball to score a difficult floater over a shot-blocker. Mack split defenders to score another layup off a DHO and walled up to block a transition layup on defense. She converted free throws efficiently from the charity stripe and was one of the best finishers of the day.

Rachael was clutch for Mystics 16U at Get Ready on Saturday. She knocked down a smooth corner three and added a free throw early in their game vs. Mystics S40. In the second half, Rachael swished a wing three off the catch, then showed her confidence late. With the game tied, Rachael created space with her step-back dribble to drain a straightaway dagger three over the outstretched hand of a 6-foot defender. She followed that up with two clutch free throws in the closing seconds to seal the win.

Lexi has silky smooth handles, and she was gliding across the floor with her dribble for Mystics 2026-S40 at Get Ready. She finished with touch around the basket and scored a soft floater off the glass. Lexi swished two confident triples on the perimeter--she has the prototypical physical measurements and playmaking skills of a next-level guard.

Molly made some head-turning plays for Mystics 2026-S40 at Get Ready on Saturday. Her extra effort and hustle to secure offensive rebounds gave the team extra scoring chances. Molly drove with determination to the basket, finishing two strong and one layups on back-to-back possessions. She completed the three-point plays by sinking both free throws at the line and was extremely competitive on both ends.
