Notable Performances from the Marble City Invitational

The gym was packed full of athletes at Carter High School for the Marble City Invitational. I watched games live all day on Saturday, and I was able to catch a few games online for Friday & Sunday. If you were in the gym April 11th-13th, you watched talent! College coaches packed the baseline, and a few kids walked away with offers to play at the next level. Below are a few notable performances:    In two games, Mariella averaged right over 11 points and 6 rebounds per game. She does a great job in the paint area. I've watched Claybrook numerous times, and I love her patience and footwork! She does a good job finishing around the rim. Defensively, if she isn't blocking shots, she is altering them. She's a versatile athlete that is blessed with great size and length. She definitely knows how to use her length to her advantage. I am positive that this '27 is on a lot of college radars!     Brylee does a great job getting to the rim. I loved when she drove, finished, and got to the line for the old fashioned 3-point play. If she gets a defensive rebound, she can push the tempo exceptionally well. She's a talented, versatile guard that does a nice job moving without the ball in her hands. She collected numerous rebounds, and played big for her Trotters' team to come away with wins. Keep eyes on Flatt!     Clark is a natural athlete that continues to use her unique physical gifts to her advantage. When the hustle stats come out, check Lauren's. She was a rebounding machine, offensively and defensively! She added numerous extra possessions that led to scores for this Trotters' team! She defended positions 1-5! She knows how to play physical without fouling. She did an excellent job on all of her assignments. Clark continues to turn heads!     Meeks did a great job in the paint area. She made numerous buckets right around the rim. She has great length to go with her height. She is a matchup problem for smaller opponents. Maliyah picked up numerous big time boards for her squad. She has great hands and she utilized numerous post moves. She knows how to rim run, and get open! She was efficient and finished around the rim with both hands. She is another athlete to keep your eyes on this summer!     Walden continues to be elite! I stated before that she is one of the best athletes to knock down transition threes! If your team needs a bucket, Sky can get it! She poured in 27 points, went 6-10 from long range! In game 1, she scored 10 points, and added 3 assists, & 4 rebounds! She continues to play the game at an extremely high level. There is no denying the athlete that Walden is. She is more than a scorer, and she will continue to impress college coaches any time that she is on the court!     I love how Bickett approaches the game! She is the do-it-all kid that plays with an extremely high motor. I have watched thousands of athletes, and this one definitely stands out! She doesn't need to drop 20 points (but, she can) and she doesn't need to add 10 rebounds (but, she can) to be different. She gets after it on every possession. She will win the 50-50 ball. She's the athlete that will go to battle against anyone. We all want athletes on our team that will go to war, and Cami is ready to battle any opponent that is in front of her. This one is going to turn a few heads this summer!     Roberts is an electric guard that continues to play the game the right way. She has elite court vision. She continues to see the floor better than most guards. I love how Abby never settles for a three point shot. In a time, where we live and die by the three; Abby will take a dribble or two to knock down the mid-range. We have stated a thousand times how excellent her mid-range game is! She is an elite defender. She makes opponents work extremely hard. This kid is going to make a coach at the next level extremely happy! Trust me, Abby's time is coming!     Malea put up a big time first game performance. The [program_tooltip program_id='713862' first='TN' last='Lady Grit'] team could not miss, and Masingale was one of them! She was on fire from the floor. She shot 5-8 from the field, and 75% from three! She was 100% from the foul line. She has one of the purest shots. When she shoots, it looks like every shot is going in. She finished game one with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. She finished game 2 with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. This one has all of the tools to be great!     Macy did an excellent job stretching the floor and knocking down shots. She shot it at a high clip during every game in the tournament! If you leave this one open, count it. I love her ability to get to the rim. She has a knack for finding open spaces on the floor. She's a solid, all-around player! Basford picked up an offer from Lander University. Macy's hard work and effort is paying off. This one is more than deserving!
