Sunday brought us a ton of action for our last day of the PGH Legacy Region Kick Off. With this action, there were several Hoopers that stood out at all age levels with their impressive play. In this piece we briefly speak about a few of those prospects that I saw make a big impact for their team throughout the day.

The pure size that [player_tooltip player_id='1229897' first='Olivia' last='Karcz'] possesses at 6'2, while only being in the 6th grade is eye-opening. When you see that she is coordinated and already knowledgable about the game as well, you start to really imagine the promise her future will hold. Karcz was working the paint on both ends today. She was posting with her back to the basket every chance she would get, usually making an impressive shot over her shoulder going towards the middle of the lane. I saw this and thought it might be a mistake at first or just a tough attempt but on multiple occasions she made the shot she was attempting. I'm not sure if Karcz is a pure hooper but I'm sure we will see her on a collegiate court one day in some facet.

[player_tooltip player_id='888334' first='Haley' last='Wiedmeyer'] of [program_tooltip program_id='713043' first='Wisconsin' last='Impact'] 13U is fearless. This is someone that wants to mix it up physicality off the dribble as she attacks down hill, ultimately looking for some free throw attempts once fouled. Today she did all that and she still held her own in rebounding on both offense and defense. She mainly maneuvers near the rim a majority of the time but she demonstrated today that she can work from the outside. [program_tooltip program_id='713043' first='Wisconsin' last='Impact'] as a program always brings solid recruits to our PGH events and this is another case of that.

Someone that I've enjoyed watching throughout this weekend is [player_tooltip player_id='1210675' first='Avery' last='Freimuth'] of Together On Three 13U Delorit. Freimuth is her team's post presence from block-to-block and she has demonstrated that she understands how to do some work with her back to the basket. Today Freimuth has caught on the block and gone to work. On her first post up, she hit her defender with a drop-step into an attempted finish, following that she pulled out the old up and under move leading to some free throw attempts. When you have a prospect at a young age, knowing their true position at this point might be challenging but you can tell that Freimuth knows her height advantage comparatively and she uses that whenever she can.

[player_tooltip player_id='874404' first='Ava' last='Cumicek'], a 5'6 PG/SG, has been her team's source for a lot of production on both sides of the ball on Saturday afternoon. Offensively, she is running the PG spot, finding others in transition and making the most of her opportunities off the catch or dribble. Defensively, she is picking up her opponent in the 3/4 court and getting her hands on tips/deflections at a steady rate, leading to easy buckets in transition for herself or her fellow teammates. You can tell that Cumicek is a focus for her team's production. They run a lot of sets for her offensively or at least they seem to today and that stood out.

This is someone that I would call a player of opportunity. [player_tooltip player_id='1224779' first='Aubrey' last='Mlada'] possesses a solid handle, she knows when to take it herself to the hoop compared to rotating the ball within her offense, and she makes calculated moves mentally that are next level in some facets. She understands how to use angles to get a physical advantage while going toward the painted area. A pretty impressive skill to see first hand. Defensively, she is no slouch. She works hard to make an impact, being one of the first on the floor in most situations with her effort and determination. Still young in her career but a lot to like with Mlada.
