I just got home from the PGH Legacy Region Kick-Off. I have multiple kids I'd like to highlight from games over the weekend, but we'll start with a few kids who had solid days on Saturday and continue with other kids through the week.

I'm used to seeing the Milwaukee Gold Meir guard stay on the perimeter and take her fair share of three-pointers throughout a game. However, the 5'10 guard did most of her damage around the rim to open the Saturday slate of games. She overpowered some kids around the rim and found easy baskets. I enjoyed that side of her game, especially considering I don't recall her using her strength as much as she did on Saturday morning.

There is something about [player_tooltip player_id='533066' first='Audrey' last='Meudt'], and I can't quite explain how exactly she does it, but Meudt is why her teams are as good as they are. Her ability to get kids the ball in positions to score helps her teammates be the best version of themselves, but Medut also has a knack for bringing timely offense when her team needs it to seal a game or get her team back in the game. After everything went wrong in the first half of her team's first game, Meudt knocked down a few threes late, which led to a second-half run.

The Pius forward showed some intriguing traits this weekend. Lillee and her sister have usually played around the basket in high school settings, but Lillee showed some juice off the dribble. She had one play on Saturday that is still in my head. She made a spin finish through contact on the left side of the court and converted an and-one. That alone made her a kid who turned my head this past weekend, and I'm eager to see what the rest of the AAU season could look like for her.

The Platteville native made a solid account for herself this past weekend. Richard is a creative kid who played through pressure and kept her head up amid that pressure. Her ability to create for others lifts her teammates, and Richard seemed like a kid her teammates responded to, which tells me that she is a leader people respect. There is room to grow on the offensive end, but she'll have a home at the next level if she wants to play.
