Last month, we updated our rankings in each of the four graduating classes currently in high school. With the Spring grassroots season in full swing, I wanted to take a moment to press 'pause', go back, and look at the Small Forwards in the Class of 2027 who we currently have ranked. Below that is a little analysis on a handful of them as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1137294' first='Mia' last='Becher'], 2027, 5-10 SF, Heritage Hills H.S.
- Mia is a bit of an unknown statewide, but she is a highly intriguing small college prospect. She is extremely long and wiry, she's a fluid athlete in most directions, and she plays with nice versatility. She can knock down an open rhythm jumper, but she prefers to attack the basket North/South. She is really good in the mid-post, and she will go rebound the ball as well. Defensively, she can use her length to defend bigger guards, and she can use her size to defend wings and smaller forwards. Look for her this Spring!

[player_tooltip player_id='751062' first='Grace' last='Fischer'], 2027, 5-10 SF, Waldron H.S.
- Grace was having a really nice Freshman year and 2024 grassroots season before she was injured. After missing the 2024-2025 Winter, I am anxious to eventually see her back in action, because she is another long, bouncy, fluidly athletic wing who can do a little of everything. She has touch outside, she can get to the basket to finish, and she can handle and create a little. I also like that she plays with urgency, plus she isn't afraid to seek contact, despite her wiry frame. She has a pretty high ceiling for the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='751125' first='Taylor' last='Mack'], 2027, 5-10 SF/PF, Eastside H.S.
- Taylor is one of the better kept secrets in this class, and I fully expect for her to step into more of a leadership role next year at Eastside, considering their 2025 graduation losses. Taylor is an athletic, wiry-strong forward who has done a nice job of transitioning from more of a power role to a wing role. She will still battle inside, defend, and rebound. But she continues to develop her handle, and she has a quick release outside that is becoming more accurate. Additionally, she can defend a variety of positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='751059' first='Eva' last='Scarbeary'], 2027, 5-9 SF, Homestead H.S.
- Homestead is such a unique place because of all their talent. You hear a lot about their Division-I prospects, but they also have plenty of talent like Eva who should draw a great deal of elite small college interest. She is incredibly long, wiry, fluid, and smooth. she has touch outside, the ability to put it on the floor productively, plus she can play in the mid-post or exclusively around the perimeter, depending on what her team needs. She is aggressive and doesn't mind contact, plus she's a very good, versatile defender.
