The last time we saw [player_tooltip player_id='777559' first='Haydin' last='Jackson'] at the Nebraska State Tournament a few months ago, she was leaving her defenders on skates. Jackson just put together a successful weekend on the road with her Missouri Phenom - Nebraska program. She was one of her team's leaders in PPG each contest while shooting the ball, she was making great effort plays defensively, and she was being a great teammate to those around her with her constant communication and guidance. Jackson is a headlining SG out of the 2027 Class in high school with how well she has shot the rock the past twelve months. If she continues to build on that and doesn't settle for only jumpers offensively, she is going to continue to become better and better as a prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='644557' first='Ari' last='Phillips'] proved herself to a lot of people in the 5A State Title game to finish off her Sophomore season with the Johnston Dragons a few months ago. Since then, she has been killing it with her 16U [program_tooltip program_id='714272' first='Iowa' last='Battlers'] team. The Battlers just put together another 4-0 weekend on the road in Wisconsin, dominating their competition in every facet of the game. Within this, Phillips did her thing and made some impressive plays on both ends of the floor. First off, Phillips has a nasty handle, great vision, and she is a willing passer. Those three factors lead to a lot of success for her teammates. Next, with her ability to handle, she can get to whichever offensive spot she wants to in the the blink of an eye. Usually it's for a finish in someway at the bucket but she is willing to switch it up. Lastly, she plays with a high motor, great energy, and a lot of hungry. When you mix all of those things together, you get a high-end recruit, who can play at the next level and that's what we have here. Phillips proved that again this weekend and I'm sure that trend will continue moving forward.

Another notable difference maker this past weekend on the court was SF, [player_tooltip player_id='771658' first='Braylee' last='Vasa']. Vasa competes with the Missouri Phenom - Nebraska hub program and she brings length, a soft touch on the ball, coordination, a willingness to mix it up with any type of opponent individually, and some impressive knowledge of the game from the X's and O's stand-point. This weekend Vasa was a constant in the rebounding and scoring department. In one contest specifically she showed what she can really do with 16 points, almost double digit rebounds, and a handful of other stats. She recorded these stats because of her willingness to keep it moving near the bucket. She was someone that the other team couldn't stick with athletically and that helped her out-pace her competition early on.

If you're just looking for a solid prospect out of the 2027 Class, that doesn't do too much but still yields positive results in her contests, look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='1237562' first='Emma' last='Walkup'] of [program_tooltip program_id='712617' first='Lady' last='Pure Prep'] 16U. Walkup isn't going to kill you with fancy moves or crazy scoring outbursts but if you don't pay attention to her, she will have a double-double before you know it. She will get to the paint and score off two feet, she will rebound over most others who don't have that aggressive edge, and she is someone who can pass if you over-play her on the drive. This was stuff that was all on display this past weekend in Des Moines. Walkup was taking what the defense was giving her, making smart plays, and converting on most of her attempts because of it. All things that were needed to help this 16U team go 4-0 in their endeavorers.

[player_tooltip player_id='928443' first='Maya' last='Jenkins'] didn't have any crazy scoring outbursts or anything like that this weekend but she did play some respectable basketball. Jenkins is a name we are becoming more and more familiar with as times moves forward. Jenkins was in Wisconsin competing with her [program_tooltip program_id='860091' first='Iowa' last='Ice'] program once again this past weekend and she made some good work of her competition. Jenkins was finding teammates to assist on multiple occasions, she was getting into the teeth of the defense and finishing herself for easy looks and she was defending her position at a high rate. This is someone with a long ways to go to become the best version of herself but she has some notable skill at this stage in the game. She just needs to continue to keep working.
