When the time is dwindling down and you need a play to be made, you have to be confident. You have to be willing to live with failure in those moments. You can't be afraid of it. Someone who did a great job of that this weekend was [player_tooltip player_id='897131' first='Stella' last='Burgher'] out of the 2029 Class. Burgher is someone that always makes an impact on the hardwood with her mixture of size and skill for her age. This weekend was no different. Burgher was making smart plays, using her natural instincts to compete, all while being a shining example for those around her. In one specific contest this weekend, Burgher got a finish at the buzzer to help secure one of her team's victories. There was about 6 seconds left on the clock for a NE Attack SLOB. The play they drew up broke down, Burgher received the ball and she took it in for a finish at the bucket throughout contact to seal the deal. A nice showing from a promising young prospect with a bright future ahead.

[player_tooltip player_id='766304' first='Paige' last='Andernacht'] is putting together an AAU season to remember with her Iowa Battler's program. Andernacht has been killing it within 15Ft of the hoop offensively, while being a sound defensive prospect that others have to worry about as well. Offensively, Andernacht has been showing off more and more of her game, little by little. She has already proven that she is a threat near the bucket with her back to the basket, she can step out to the midrange and hit jumpers or she can attack off the dribble to get to a more favorable position. Defensively, she has great awareness for her age. She understands situational basketball and when she needs to come from help side to protect the paint, compared to when she needs to step out and defender some other guard like player. All in all, Andernacht is playing some respectable ball on a national circuit and that's been noteworthy these past few weeks.

The player that really set it off this weekend on the road was [player_tooltip player_id='884234' first='Da'Nyla' last='Tatum'] of [program_tooltip program_id='779942' first='ETG' last='Midwest [program_tooltip program_id='713325' first='Elite' last=''] 3SSB'] 15U. Tatum is the #1 ranking player out of the 2028 Class in Nebraska at this time and for good reason. She possesses an [program_tooltip program_id='713325' first='Elite' last=''] handle with a deadly crossover, she is a top-notch facilitator at the PG spot, her ability to score from all three levels is eye-opening, she has a lethal combination of quick hands/active feet, and she competes with a higher motor than most her age. Tatum was mixing it up this weekend. She had her defenders in the spin cycle each contest, making several opponents look silly in their pursuit of her. The sky is the limit for this one. If she continues to grow in her game, she will be ranked nationally before you know it.

[player_tooltip player_id='913222' first='Julia' last='Van Keuren'] is one of the taller prospects that the state of Iowa has to offer. Especially out of the 2028 Class. Van Keuren comes into this evaluation as 6'2, she is coordinated within her balance, and she has pretty decent hands by the hoop. The combination of those three things helps her record several rebounds, put-backs/buckets, and blocks/tips/deflections every single contest. This season for AAU ball, Van Keuren has been holding down the paint for her Battler's program. She is the definition of a presence in the middle of the lane that you have to watch out for. She is quicker and lengthier than you might think. It's pretty deceiving. I'm excited to see how Van Keuren comes back for high school ball in a few weeks. If she continues to play like she is now, she should be a dominant force to deal with this Winter.

It seems like every AAU season we are at this point. The point of [player_tooltip player_id='557354' first='Jenica' last='Lewis'] making national headlines because of how well she is playing right now. Lewis had another great weekend on the road, being on fire from three in each contest and playing sound defense. It seems like every time we look, Lewis is coming off of an impressive showing but that's what you get out of a Top 25 ranking player nationally. This is a hooper that has ample skill offensively, while having great instincts on the defensive side of things. That's been obvious not just this past weekend but for a few years now.
