Baden Summer Showcase: 9 Standout 2027s

Here are nine players from last weekend's Baden Summer Showcase who stood out for their impact across the weekend. These girls had a lot to say about how their teams fared at the event and put in some impressive performances.   [player_tooltip player_id='964916' first='Kyla' last='Frazier'] | 5'10 | SG | Bellarmine Prep   Had an awesome game against Roosevelt, showing just how important she is to her Bellarmine team. Displayed the handle and strength to get depth and shoot gaps, the buttery stroke to cash in from different levels, and didn't waste her dribbles or touches. Had great footwork, mixed up her attacks, making great reads and setting up defenders with fakes and hard jabs. Did a great job turning the corner to cut off trail defenders and was composed working for good angles to finish around bodies inside. Very solid across the board and one of the more impressive players overall at the event.   [player_tooltip player_id='928137' first='Avery' last='Hansen'] | 5'6 | PG | Auburn   Did a great job pushing the ball in transition to get numbers in their favor and was patient to draw in extra defender then make the right pass. Identified mismatches in the halfcourt and set up the offense to go to work. Just a guard who doesn't give up on plays and made a couple of key offensive boards crashing in from outside and following her passes up the court in transition. Her outside shot looked improved too, which should make her an even tougher cover outside.   [player_tooltip player_id='931418' first='Elianna' last='Weiss'] | 5'6 | CG | Newport   Looks ready for a big year with Newport and will do quite a bit of ballhandling for them. She was pretty elusive at times, great at finding space in heavy traffic with quick moves, displayed good change of direction, and had some great pickups to protect the ball while splitting defenders downhill. She's a shooter too and showed some nice touch from behind the arc as well as on the go in the paint.   [player_tooltip player_id='1114653' first='Ileana' last='Olteanu'] | 5'9 | CG | Lake Washington   Showed she has various ways to attack from the perimeter and is really emerging as a key player for the Kangs. Can get separation outside, whether it was a quick crossover or a hard pound, she did a great job getting her feet back under her and ready to rise for the long-range shots. Also made some solid drives where she showed off a little playmaking.   [player_tooltip player_id='676259' first='Julia' last='Benthin'] | 5'9 | CG | Lake Washington   Has been super impressive this spring with her athleticism, defense, and rebounding, and continued each of those during the showcase. Had some big blocks coming over from the help side, took on defending some of the other team's best players, and on top of that, dropped in a game-winning shot in their final game of the weekend. Did a great job getting the ball up the floor with outlets and passes up in transition.   [player_tooltip player_id='676260' first='Kawehi' last='Borden'] | 6'0 | SG/SF | Sumner   Simply too strong for almost any defender who tried to stop her downhill. Already had defenders backing up when she got the rock, and her blend of strength, footwork, and determination made her a constant presence at the rim. Made several great feeds after forcing the defense to collapse on her drives. Showed she can hit from further out and separate in the midrange, but her ability to get to the rim put a big strain on the defense and she continued to work to depth, which resulted in high percentage looks for her and her teammates.   [player_tooltip player_id='751211' first='Emma' last='Curtis'] | 5'7 | CG/SF | Roosevelt   She's one of the best in her class at winning extra possessions and getting her team quick buckets. Elite hustler and defender, wins loose balls, long rebounds, gets tons of deflections and steals, and is always looking to get the ball up the floor, whether that's long outlets or running down the court herself. She is simply a tough guard who makes winning plays. Super athletic, great instincts on defense, always looking up to move the ball forward.   [player_tooltip player_id='928170' first='Yuki' last='Willis'] | 5'8 | PG | Redmond   Impactful penetrator and creator. Consistently able to get paint touches, great job playing off of two, and creatively finding room for shots inside. She was all over the game, making plays and inciting a lot of their offensive action. Showed great control and vision to find tight gaps and change direction in high-traffic areas. Great at utilizing pivots and really holds a lot of eyes from the defense when she has the ball.   [player_tooltip player_id='751213' first='Jaycee' last='Harrison'] | 5'7 | CG | Tahoma   Very smooth guard who can fill up the stat sheet. Had some nice rim drives against tough defenders, drained shots from behind the arc, and hit in the midrange. Just has the craft to find space and pick her shots well from each level. Was also pretty smart defending the ball, timing her pokes, keeping her hands up and ready, and moving her feet well.
