Before the two big boys' weekends hit the LakePoint Champions Center in Emerson, the girls were on display June 12-14 over twelve courts, and the quality of play in my time there Saturday was stellar.

Here were some pure scorers who were easy to spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='904616' first='Hailey' last='Houlder'] | Guard | Archer | 2028

Just having arrived as a transfer from Whitefield Academy after a strong frosh campaign in A-D1 Region 5, the slick lefty PG enters an already solid lineup of returnees in Lawrenceville. Following up 23 wins from a season ago, Houlder won't have to carry all the load by any means, but she's a scoring point in the modern mold. able to go on scoring runs using either hand and hurting you from both the perimeter with range or downhill at the rim. She's as good an instinctive passer as you'll find in the ATL-Metro, and her on-ball defense is already college-level elite.

[player_tooltip player_id='476504' first='Lydia' last='Ledford'] | Guard | Buford | 2026

Plays with such guts and aggressiveness, despite her obvious star player status, the foot is never off the gas. That speaks to her work in the dynamite year in and year out Lady Wolves program, as well as her success and development with the Southeast All-Stars in the Spring. Has really made strides in the outside shooting game to augment her crafty and determined downhill scoring package. The gifts extend to between the ears, where her vision and court awareness have few peers. Charleston, Georgia State, and James Madison are just a few of the most recent offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='608120' first='Finley' last='Parker'] | Forward | River Ridge | 2027

It's always a treat watching River Ridge play under superb coach Jason Taylor, and equally entertaining watching Parker under his direction. She's so sound, so well-drilled, has such terrific natural instincts on the floor, it's easy to see why the 6-foot-3 inside-out threat and high academic prospect is drawing major interest from Harvard, Columbia and Georgia Tech. Plays the pick and pop game where she can drill bombs well past the arc, gets down to the block and posts up like a classic back to the basket gem, and is highly proficient in the mid-range game in an era where kids tend to pass up good shot opportunities in those ranges.

[player_tooltip player_id='476460' first='Ellison' last='Steinhauer'] | Guard | Pickens | 2026

The smooth jumper and high IQ all-court game may have to do a little more in '25-26 after some key graduations from a 27-win club that went to the 3A Final 8. And she showed off some of her already well-known diverse offensive game, particularly in the mid-range, which is still alive in the women's game thankfully, and is where she can use her quickness off the dribble to pull up on defenders. This will spare her some of the likely physical toll that could accompany her senior campaign. There's some nice younger pieces coming up for the Nettes, but Steinhauer will handle the point, play off the wing, and still see the ball a ton across the spectrum, and put up numbers.

[player_tooltip player_id='674574' first='Carly' last='Bass'] | Guard | Sequoyah | 2027

A tireless worker away from the bright lights, it was easy to see that all that time in the gym was going to pay off majorly for this uber-talented backcourt gem. The 2027 and 2028 classes are stepping up to leadership and key roles for the Lady Chiefs, and Bass is the key cog in that mix. As pure and pretty a jump shot as you'll find in the Georgia girls game, she's bigger and stronger and looking swifter as well, and the way she can control the game as a 1 but also destroy you from all sorts of ranges as a wing, makes for quite the dilemma. The D1 offers have begun trickling in, expecting that trickle to become a deluge very soon.
