I-35 Summer Showcase. Notes Part 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I-35 Summer Showcase in the Wichita and Andover area was loaded with some very talented ball players this weekend. Event was well ran as always and on time. There were several Top 5 players in each class in the gyms this weekend. Giving you an idea of competition. It did not matter if it was a deep shot or a mid-range pull up. A player that stood out enough that when watching a Oklahoma team she stood out. Good handles on the drive that does not mind the contact to get an old school 3-point play. Ball was safe in her hands as she made great decisions always having her eyes looking diagonal waiting to defense to commit to hit that backside pass. Got out to a hot start in first game dropping double digits plus adding some lock down defense in the press. Showed athleticism finishing at the rim with a slide step for a layup leaving the defender standing waiting for the charge. Before the injury she averaged double digits and known for lock down defense. After watching Essence play in summer league and this weekend she is getting back to her old ways. Attacking the rim making contact with inside bump to create the space needed for the pull up jumper. Impressive is that she is always moving looking to make something happen. On offense she is relocating for shot or waiting for you to turn the head so she can cut backdoor. A shooter with deep range that opens up driving lanes for her to attack. Great vision in the half court and full court. An incredible ball handler that changes her direction in a flash reacting to the defense. It never seemed the dribbles were wasted movement as each bounce had a purpose. The body control was calm and smooth never looked rattled. Tough floater in the paint on the middle drives. A hard player to match up as she can also shoot the deep ball. Does not need much time to get the shot off . The feet and hands are ready just needing the basketball. When ran off the 3-point line she uses her height and jumping ability rise above the help defender finishing a the rim. Good handles in the open floor that is looking to kick the ball up the court with the pass.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On defense she is long and up the lane a pass away.
