On June 13th-14th I attended the annual prestigious Section-7 at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa/AZ.

I watched around 30 local teams and here are some

Standout Forwards Viewed

[player_tooltip player_id='659934' first='Bella' last='Abt'] Prescott (Pictured)

One of the more versatile power forwards who will score it every way. She lives in the paint with offensive rebound put backs, get downhill with either hand to finish or get fouled. She plays inside with drop steps but can extend to the three point line. She has a fluid handle for a forward and is a plus defender in space to collect steals and in the post.

[player_tooltip player_id='797280' first='Avery' last='Olson'] Horizon

A fluid face-up forward can score it from inside and out. She will hit the three and then give a hard ball fake and rip thru with long strides to the basket. She is a very good passer and stays active throughout a game.

[player_tooltip player_id='603672' first='Audrey' last='Bhesania'] Sandra Day O'Connor

A wing forward who can often take the ball off the glass and go coast to coast with either hand. She scores with multiple fall away step backs making it look easy shooting over her defenders and handles the ball well to create her own offense. She can defend versus bigger players.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255336' first='Amaya' last='Ribbens'] Millennium

A stronger framed post who holds her ground well in the paint on defense and rebounds everything and then will outlet the ball. Offensively she can step out and shoot it from mid to the occasional three.

[player_tooltip player_id='925238' first='Corri' last='Jones'] Williams Field

A high motored power forward who is very fluid and active. She uses her size and length to rebound and keep possessions alive and works best from mid-range and in. She is a rare one that does not have to score too many points to affect a game.

[player_tooltip player_id='808142' first='Kaitlynn' last='Barnett'] Eastmark

A sturdy framed post player who is a strong rebounder. She seems to grab every rebound near her and boxes out like you should. She will score inside with put backs and layups and is a very good passer plus will block shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='836785' first='Lizzie' last='Norton'] Mesquite

A skilled wing is a natural scorer who will defend. She will hit the three off the catch and take it coast to coast after she rebounds the ball with an aggressive nature. She is hyper competitive on defense and does many little things that add up to winning.

[player_tooltip player_id='797283' first='Peyton' last='Jacobsen'] Highland

A versatile wing forward loves getting downhill using her size and tighter handle. She consistently scores thru the contact and is very tough taking a bump and keeps playing to the rim. She plays with a motor to rebound and crashes the glass in and out of her area. She can also hit the three and is a good passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='780442' first='Trinity' last='Jones'] Perry

A top of the food chain athlete was easily the best defender I saw all weekend long. She will block or alter shots every game and collect steals that lead to buckets. She consistently out races the whole field with her incredible speed on the break. She primarily scores it around the basket and in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='663051' first='Cadence' last='Murdough'] Higley

A highly skilled taller power forward with good hands and fluidity. She scores with the pick and roll game, runs the floor, she can step out and shoot the three but works well inside the paint with her size, hands and skill.

[player_tooltip player_id='749670' first='Noelle' last='Mulvanny'] Desert Vista

A two-way forward seems to defend every position on the court. She is very athletic and plays with a real motor to rebound in and out of her area. She will block a shot and sprint the court for a layup. She has that natural energy you can't teach.

[player_tooltip player_id='588731' first='Irene' last='Noelle Guiamatsia'] Xavier

One of the most imposing post players in the AIA. She is very fluid from end to end and can handle the ball well. She will create her own offense and rip thru plus play with her back to the basket. She has soft hands and is nearly impossible to stop from scoring one on one. When she does get doubled, she finds teammates in stride every time.

[player_tooltip player_id='811351' first='Sade' last='J. Charles'] Xavier

A stronger framed wing forward who can play and defend multiple positions. She can defend in the paint and then on the perimeter. She can score it inside with layups taking the contact and hit the three off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='924686' first='Taylor' last='Morris'] Mesa

One of the biggest forwards in the AIA also happens to be one of the better shooters in the class. She will rattle threes in off the catch and can rise up or even fall away from her defender from 8-feet. She can handle it a little and is a very good passer for her size making it look easy.

[player_tooltip player_id='751756' first='Jayda' last='Hunt'] Millennium

An active power forward is a plus rebounder and defender in space. She will rebound the ball and close out to shooters to block shots. She scores it around the basket and has polished drop step move plus uses the floater game.

[player_tooltip player_id='927947' first='Paisy' last='Perkins'] Horizon

An efficient power forward with a motor. She will score with mid-range jumpers and is great around the basket. She keeps the ball high and will go up in one motion to finish off the play. She attacks the glass and keeps getting better every year. Stock up!

[player_tooltip player_id='924675' first='Amira' last='Reynolds'] Basha

A highly productive power forward will score with offensive rebound put backs, get downhill with a nice handle for position and has an incredible motor to grab out of area rebounds. When she is rolling, the Bears are tough to defend.
