Since first watching McCalister, speed and defense have characterized her game. Which is still true, as she was disruptive on defense and a blur in transition. And now she seems to be adjusting and settling more into the role of being a true PG. Routinely got paint touches in the halfcourt. Leading to her scoring herself or dropping dimes to teammates near the rim. Or kicking it out to perimeter players. Very promising showing of the growth of McCalister's feel as a playmaker. Looks ready for an even bigger role and impact for a Del City team aiming for another Class 5A State Tournament appearance.

The newcomer has slotted in perfectly to make for an exciting 2027 and 2028 core for a rolling Lady Irish squad. During an early Saturday evening romp, Cooper scored efficiently and shared the ball very well. Her decision making is improving, which should open the floor more for her strong scoring. It helped that the McGuinness offense put her in good spots to take advantage of her shooting in the mid-range and also gave her room to cut to the rim. There are strong signs to her overall feel for the game are growing as she heads into her sophomore season.

Non stop energy always stands out when watching Prestridge. She'll be on the floor for a loose ball one second. Then hustling around the perimeter to close out on shooters. There's a reason that with her size, athleticism and motor that she feels like a TNT player. What's scary for the opposition is that with her motor still running hot, it looks like the rest of the game is slowing down for her. Handles looked tighter and she had more of an on the ball role. As she continues to gain confidence, good luck keeping her out of the paint. The Prestridge sisters are going to be a handful all year long in 6A.

Davis and her twin (Jada) anchored an impressive day for the Lady Redhawks. She had a signature sequence in their Saturday evening win, which showed her complete skillset. It started on the offensive glass. Then it was her defensive versatility, covering guards and forcing steals. After those steals, or defensive rebounds, she keeps her focus down the court, making the simple but important pitch ahead passes. Leading to easy scores for her teammates. While also running the floor to either get putbacks or score as a trailer. Finally, she has A+ energy on the bench, cheering on her teammates when out of the game.

Holmes vs Miles on the horizon

Two of the best 2028 prospects were also on missions today. With [player_tooltip player_id='957120' first='Elexis' last='Holmes'] shining with her new program, Muskogee. She helped led the way in a win over Grind Prep. Which saw Holmes scoring from deep and looking like the best athlete on a court filled with future collegiate players. Meanwhile [player_tooltip player_id='727813' first='Brooklyn' last='Miles'] was a one woman whirlwind of destruction on both ends of the court for Pawhuska. She had one sequence against a 6A program where she stopped a 3 on 1 fast break with a block. Then was the first player to help up her opponent. Whew.

Anyway, the schedule makers at OU team camp have deiced that Sunday needs to start with a bang. At 9:50 AM, Muskogee and their new star trio will take on Miles and her Pawhuska Huskies. It's a premier showcase of two players with strong claims to being the best 2028 prospect in Oklahoma.
