As we review the recent Spring/Summer AAU SZN, we are going to attempt to talk about everyone that competed and produced over the past six months on the road.

In this specific article, we brush up on some hoopers that killed it over the past couple of months, who are all going to either be 8th graders or Freshman this upcoming Winter. At this point in the game for everyone listed below, we are extremely early in this process but it's always good to understand who to keep an eye on over the next couple of years.

Sometimes when prospects are towards the end of their journey in the middle school rankings, you can see their promise shine through. You see it in the live action, in practice, and in their every day habits. Someone that is going to be pretty skilled by the time she gets to high school is [player_tooltip player_id='1226648' first='Leona' last='Buller'] of Elkhorn South. Buller is going to be a very good player if she sticks with it. She is already smart, crafty, athletic, and her understanding of situations within the game of Basketball itself is impressive for her age level. She can hurt you as her team's PG or she can move to compete at the 2 or 3 spot, depending on what her coaches are asking of her in that moment. Either way, wherever she is - she produces already and it's something to pay attention to moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='900208' first='MJ' last='Murphy'] is going to be a natural on the varsity floor before you know it. Murphy has better size than most already at 6'1, she is a back to the basket monster, and she makes eye-opening plays on defense. When oppositions give Murphy time to post with her back to the basket, it's over almost immediately. She understands to use her balance, touch, and height to her advantage at all times. Like I said, defensively - this is someone who can be a stopper within the lane in every situation you can name. This is someone coming off of a productive AAU season with her [program_tooltip program_id='715717' first='Nebraska' last='Supreme'] team and Murphy should be hungry to make some waves this Winter with the Mustangs.

At this point we have mentioned [player_tooltip player_id='896729' first='Charlotte' last='Hoffman'] of Millard West for about a year now. Hoffman, a 5'10 Forward, is going to fit into the Millard West offense with ease. This is a prospect with a smart head on her shoulders and this is a program with some BALLERS in their past at the same position so we know that they can teach Hoffman what's up throughout the next four years. She can already post smaller defenders on the block, she can work from the mid-post within 15FT, and she can work as a screen on the outside. It's been a promising start to her career so far and she still has a long ways to go. Something I'm sure she is ecstatic about!

[player_tooltip player_id='896779' first='Reagan' last='Purcell'] should be a solid role player at Millard West over her high school career. Purcell is listed as a 5'8 Forward but if she wants to see some quality moments at the varsity level, she is going to have to move over to the 3 or 4 spot sooner or later. This is a player that has coordination and a player that likes to play off of two feet. Those two things alone can take her places on the high school floor. She has fantastic movement from side-to-side and she reacts in a positive way when take criticism. With motivation and guidance, who knows what she might be able to accomplish over the next four years.

Millard North started 3 freshman this Summer at shootouts. If they stick to that type of system moving into Winter, [player_tooltip player_id='897434' first='Mia' last='McKenzie'] will be prospect that is competing on the varsity floor a good amount throughout the season as she continues to grow. McKenzie has a great feel for the game at 6'0. She has has better than average body control near the bucket and she is a tough competitor to stay in front of with her physicality. She can attack from the blocks and counter if need be while also being a constant rebounder on both ends. There is a lot to like out of this young Millard North group. They are going to be relevant for the upcoming years throughout the state of Nebraska as long as they work hard in the off-seasons.
