Future Stars: The Rising 2028 Basketball Players

One thing I will say about the 28s, they are some tough competitors who get after it. No matter the setting: pick up ball, training, travel ball, high school ball, these kids get after it and want to leave their mark on the game. Throughout our state, there is something about 28 that I just can't put my finger on. They carry themselves with this type of gumption to where they are out to prove themselves or prove you wrong. They compete. Period. With that being said, you will see a lot of 28s who will either run the show or be impactful in their roles.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Don't get me wrong, I am saying there will be a lot of 28s on the floor. It's not that the opportunities are given to them, but are earned. This summer, I saw a lot of 28s go to war and make a name for themselves. No matter where I was in the country, I walked away from a 28 game impressed.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Just like you all know, some 28s are already household names. I want to point out a few young ladies who are going to pique your interest as they do work this upcoming season. She has an amazing wingspan that enables her to get her hands on the ball, especially on the defensive end. Deflections, blocks, steals, her forte is causing turnovers. Offensively, she has a nice jumper that she puts on display both beyond the arc and inside the perimeter. She can finish at the rim against contact, creating and 1 situations. A solid two-way player who can score in multiple ways. Her impact isn't felt just on the offensive side, but on the defensive side as well. She is a heady ballplayer who is going to exploit the other team's weakness. She can handle the rock, dish it to open teammates, and really control the show. She is a defensive juggernaut who is going to lock up the opponent the full length of the court. Every minute she is on the floor, you better believe she is going to grind. She can shoot from the perimeter, get to the rim with ease, but her presence is really going to be felt on the defensive end. Speed. Creating chaos. That is what this young lady is about. Maren is a heady ball player who can run the point efficiently. She has nice handles, but given any space, especially along the perimeter, the ball is going to go up. She has a quick trigger that she unleashes; however, she also has quickness that enables her to get to the rim. She is a scoring threat from multiple spots on the floor; however, it's the energy she plays with that is infectious. She gets after it on both ends of the floor, and her team feeds off of her energy and passion she brings to the table.
