Losing my laptop to the electronics land of shooting range practice fodder has been ridiculously obstructive to cranking out my Kansas all-summer ball teams. Finally, I am back up an running. Picking up with the start of my 2027 All-Kansas Team, the resulting list emerged from sorting through my notes from a club tryout, a team camp and several events. As with the 2026 part one I begin with point and shooting guards. Only players I saw in-person were considered.

Point Guards

[player_tooltip player_id='933564' first='Avery' last='Ingram'], 5'7", Manhattan - Ingram is not a flashy, grab your attention presence on the floor. Her game is to be consistently sound on both ends of the floor. The Indians are well known for what they bring to every game - punch you in the mouth right away, push you defensively, have their bigs battle for everything inside and bury you when their perimeter shot it falling. She is a tough on-ball defender and quality rebounder who jumps to the ball well. Ingram also shoots a good mid-range ball, works well with her head up in the open court and is a quality passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='836278' first='Alexa' last='Splechter'], 5'4", Burlington - Splechter has had a huge summer, attracting attention from scouts inside and outside the state. Her game has been very strong on both ends of the floor but for me what sets her apart is her leadership. She directs traffic, makes consistently strong decisions and fed teammates at the right time with quality passes.

[player_tooltip player_id='932968' first='Brooke' last='Steven'], 5'6", Bishop Carroll - The Eagle point guard's game showed increasing maturity this summer. Fast and very quick her decision making and control with the ball showed noticeable improvement.

Shooting Guards

[player_tooltip player_id='892373' first='Thaylee' last='Powers'], 5'7", Garden City - The Buffaloes are a strong contender to reach the 6A state tournament out of the west this upcoming season and Powers could be one of the keys to succeeding. She showed quality athleticism, creativity with intention to create space and shots and an ability to knock down shots from all around the arc. The speed and quickness is there. How well she continues to put it all together defensively and in handling full court pressure with the ball will help her define how high her ceiling is.

[player_tooltip player_id='845983' first='Ahsieyrhuajh' last='Rayton'], 5'8", Topeka - Rayton is part of a strong Topeka backcourt that finished 2025 with a loss in a sub-state final. She is a lot to handle because of her strong handles, speed, aggressiveness, athleticism and size at the position. Her perimeter shot sets up a great deal of her offensive game because it creates space for her to operate when defenders come out that extra step. Defensively, her aggressiveness shows up pressuring wings and picking off passes. Once with the ball in transition, forget it. She will not get run down.

[player_tooltip player_id='884875' first='Sayler' last='Stapleton'], 5'4", Meade - Stapleton draws a great deal of attention due to how dangerous of a shooter she can be when she heats up. But what I also saw was scrappiness in the half court on both ends of the floor. She does not have a itchy trigger finger. Often she will pass up a good perimeter look to drive or use a couple dribbles to get a great one. A fun talent to watch develop in the small school ranks, I anticipate Stapleton to repeat as a concensus all-state selection in 2026.
