Continuing through my 2027 class all-Kansas summer ball team for 2025 I turn to combo guards and small forwards. Part one presented point and shooting guards. Following on the heals of my point and shooting guard picks for my 2025 Summer Ball All-Kansas 2027 team comes this part two, the combo guards and small forwards. Keep in mind that only players I saw in-person were considered.

[player_tooltip player_id='723402' first='Taylor' last='McCarty'], 5'9", Cheylin - Reflective of recent offers from D II schools McCarty's stock continues to rise. PGH scout Brandon Fisher recently commented that was one of the best shooters he saw all summer. Having followed McCarty for a couple years now I always look for something new each time I see her. What impressed me at the KC Clash was her aggressiveness and quickness working in half court defensive schemes. Very light on her feet she smartly uses her length in trapping situations and jumping passing lanes when off the ball. Heading into her junior year she is without question the talent in 1A Div II and would start on nearly every team in every classification.

[player_tooltip player_id='849030' first='Kylenna' last='Potts'], 5'8", Shawnee Mission South - Potts is a very talented, solid framed prospect who can be also found working against opposing forwards. She has strong transition speed and quick hands. She also has a smooth perimeter release off the catch. Her formidability, given her length and quickness, as a defender will climb as she improves her footwork and balance defending in the half court.

[player_tooltip player_id='719105' first='Jaela' last='Thompson'], 5'10", Maize South - Probably one of the most impressive aspects of Thompson's game is her defensive instincts. She has an amazing ability to generate turnovers, often racking up 8-10 steals a game. Her speed with the ball yields many transition baskets. Very athletic with long arms Thompson is also a fluid scorer who uses a variety of moves within 12' of the basket.

Small Forwards

[player_tooltip player_id='932962' first='Jadyn' last='Crosby'], 5'11", Larned - Crosby is a lengthy, athletic forward with good speed and hands. She works well running the baseline and uses a variety of shots to score with elevation. Crosby showed a quality whirl from the right block, mid-range basket attacking ability and can knocked down the challenged three pointer.

[player_tooltip player_id='910377' first='Macy' last='Schroering'], 5'9", Blue Valley North - Schroering is a scrappy, broad shouldered forward with a high motor. Long limbed and athletic she scores well in transition and in a variety of half court situations. Defensively she effectively and consistently jumps and cuts cutters well, often frustrating opponents because they have difficult gaining space to catch entry passes.
