2029 Rankings Update: Michigan's Top Five

The 2029 Class Rankings have finally hit the internet after months of evaluation by our scouts. After much deliberation and reflection, we have decided that these are the freshmen prospects who should be included in our first rankings release. There are ten prospects we feel confident about ranking in the top ten, based on multiple evaluations in different competitive environments. Every prospect who made the top ten performed at a high level in front of our scouts against college-level talent, and all ten were Top Performers at the Freshman Showcase. What a prospect does or does not do against college-level talent matters when determining their college trajectory.   The Watch List includes prospects who have demonstrated college potential in front of our scouts--some will need additional evaluations before assigning a ranking. The number of ranked prospects will increase every few months, and we are excited to see all of these girls make an immediate impact for their high school programs. She has length, athleticism, explosiveness, decision-making IQ, and fundamental abilities that make her a high-level college guard prospect. At her height, it's rare to see the coordination and prolific skills that she has as a freshman. O.J. has consistently dominated against top-tier talent, and she's an SVL All-Conference candidate on day one for Bay City Western.   <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2025/09/pgh-freshman-showcase-danyles-top-performers-2/">Read More About O.J.</a>     Nylah is Michigan's top post prospect right now, and she's provided plenty of evidence to support that statement for months. Nylah has athleticism, strength, power, and a high motor on both ends of the court that make her a dominant force. She keeps growing in stature and skill. Nylah's progression as a finisher and ability to make difficult adjustments to catch entry passes impressed me at the Freshman Showcase. She earned All-Showcase First Team and MVP honors at the event. Nylah has an offer from BGSU and Wayne State on the table. Spoiler alert, there's more coming her way. She's been dominant during observations of AAU, high school, and individual events leading up to our first rankings release. Taryn has fantastic footwork in the paint and touch around the basket. She's gaining confidence as a shooter and is a formidable shot-blocker. Taryn competes hard and is a tough rebounder. She earned All-Showcase First Team and MVP honors at the Freshman Showcase. Taryn's proven time and again that she's a top front-court prospect in this class. Her court vision and passing instincts particularly stood out to me at Oakland Elite Camp. Mo has a full bag of dribble combinations, which, combined with her quickness, make her extremely effective at penetrating defenses. When she gets to the rim, Mo finishes with touch and efficiency. With all the talent in Belleville, it's not easy to carve out a role for yourself as a freshman, but that's exactly what we expect Mo to do this season. Kinley has length, athleticism, energy, basketball IQ, dynamic ball-handling skills, three-level scoring abilities, and defensive prowess that will attract college coaches. She stuffs the stat sheet in every category and makes the right plays to help the team win. Kinley has excelled in travel, high school, and individual events leading up to our first rankings release.
