About Mo’Riyah
Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Mo’Riyah played well for Belleville at CMU Team Camp, impacting the game with her active defense, court vision, dribble penetration, and strong finishing at the rim. She drove hard to the basket for an and-one layup in transition and swiped the ball away to score a speedy fast break bucket. Mo shoveled out an assist to a teammate inside and made a great kick out pass to the corner an assist after attacking down the baseline. She swatted a shot attempt away in the lane and wasn’t afraid to pull the trigger from beyond the arc. Mo is a dynamic guard in the backcourt who creates scoring looks for others and herself.

Mo’Riyah has consistently performed at a high level in front of our scouts at travel tournaments, elite camps, and showcases. Her court vision and passing instincts particularly stood out to me at Oakland Elite Camp. Mo has a full bag of dribble combinations, which, combined with her quickness, make her extremely effective at penetrating defenses. When she gets to the rim, Mo finishes with touch and efficiency. With all the talent in Belleville, it’s not easy to carve out a role for yourself as a freshman, but that’s exactly what we expect Mo to do this season. She earned All-Showcase Second Team honors at the Freshman Showcase and is Michigan’s top point guard prospect.

It’s not easy to get run at a powerhouse program like Belleville, but Mo’Riyah has the talent to step into the rotation right away. Her playmaking skills and facilitation stood out at Oakland Elite Camp. Mo’Riyah showed off her shifty handles during 1v1 and used a killer inside-out dribble to score a layup. Mo’Riyah chased down many rebounds on both ends during games. She froze a defender with a hesi, then blew by for a layup. Mo’Riyah ran through the ball and made the extra passes on her drives. She took a steal coast to coast, changing hands in transition, and delivered a bounce pass on the money for an assist in the final game. Mo’Riyah is a prospect we’re excited to watch at the Freshman Showcase

Mo’Riyah is a quick and athletic combo guard prospect who shined bright for Michigan Crossover when I watched her play at the April Showers Classic. She is a disruptor on defense who takes steals the other way for two points. Mo makes strong passes to open teammates and is a threat from 3-point distance. She has a variety of ball-handling moves and finishes with good footwork around the basket. Mo is a promising prospect who will be a force at the high school level on day one.

Mo’Riyah is an athletic guard who will be a name to remember in the 2029 class. Her impact was felt for Michigan Crossover 14U JREYBL at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She kept her eyes up, pushed the ball with both hands in transition, and fired strong skip passes to open teammates. Mo swiped the ball away many times to score layups and buried a smooth wing 3. She verbally encouraged teammates on both ends and drove past defenders with a burst off the bounce before using a nice euro-step move.
