The 2025-26 season is just over two months away, and some players have breakout seasons every year. Today, we'll highlight a few players who could earn more prominent roles this coming season and be breakout performers. There are plenty of candidates for breakout players, but we will look at eight who I think could surprise people.

[player_tooltip player_id='874384' first='Keira' last='Van Wie']

The Waunakee native is a player who has demonstrated her versatility on both ends of the floor. Van Wie is a player who can attack defenses inside and out and handle the ball on the perimeter when she has the opportunity. However, the defensive end is where the Waunakee Warrior will catch people's attention the most. She is a versatile defender and has an edge to her game that exemplifies her abilities on the defensive end. Van Wie has the tools to be one of the most productive defenders in Wisconsin.

[player_tooltip player_id='764914' first='Finley' last='Morgan']

Laconia was a group led by their 2025 class, which reached state all four years they were in high school. Morgan played a role for the Spartans in the past two seasons and was an excellent offensive threat alongside the 2025 class. Morgan has played as a lead guard at times and shown some things to like on that end, but she will have the opportunity to make that spot her own in her junior season this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='751240' first='Autumn' last='Crowe']

The St. Mary Catholic guard made plays for the Zephyrs last season. Crowe was a threat to knock down perimeter jumpers and a talented defender. However, she showed what she could do off the dribble with her [program_tooltip program_id='713328' first='Team' last='1848'] group, and it was something I didn't expect to see from her this past AAU season. In a role where she can make plays with the ball in her hands, which I'd expect her to be in this season, Crowe could excel for the Zephyrs.

[player_tooltip player_id='892088' first='Lucy' last='Norville']

Another SMC product who could be a productive player this coming season is their rising junior wing/forward. Norville is a player who doesn't need to score a point to make an impact on the game. I watched her play Oostburg last season, and she didn't score. However, her team played better when she was on the floor. She may not be someone who scored 15-20 points every game next season, but she could help her team compete at a high level coming off a state title game appearance.
