This is the last double article day of the month, and I want to use it to highlight some players I plan to watch at some point during the high school season. These players may not be the best in the state, but they are the ones worth learning about and watching this coming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='914910' first='Addison' last='Schmidt']

The Rice Lake forward is among the best rebounders in the state, and has been since she arrived at the high school level. Schmidt is a double-double threat whenever she walks onto the floor. The Warrior helped lead her team to the state tournament this past season by controlling the area around the basket. Sometimes their best offense is a missed shot that Schmidt grabs as an offensive rebound and puts back to keep the score moving. She is also a physical presence on the defensive end of the floor who can keep opposing guards away from the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='874375' first='Aubryn' last='Clark']

The Rhinelander guard missed most of the 2nd half of the high school season with a back injury, which also kept her out for most of the AAU season. Clark is a smart guard who took an assertive role in the early portions of her sophomore season. She looked to score and create with the ball in her hands when I saw her play, and she never made any excuses when it came to injury or illness, especially in the early portion of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='751280' first='Rihanna' last='Barker']

The Bradford wing is a high-effort player who can defend well on the perimeter and can use her strength to hold her ground around the basket. Barker is a player who will earn her team extra possessions by rebounding on both ends of the floor. She is a player who could impress people with her effort plays when she's on the floor. I was a fan of hers when I first saw her play, heading into her first high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id='743735' first='Kourtlyn' last='Guy']

The Milwaukee Academy of Science guard has the athleticism to make plays on both ends of the floor. Guy is a player who has always been a high-IQ player who can read the game well on the defensive end of the floor. She started as an inconsistent offensive threat, but has improved on the end of the floor. She impressed me each time I watched her play and is a player I'm eager to see in her junior season.
