Double Digit D1 Numbers

With recent commitments, the Class of 2026 has reached double digits of players headed straight to D1. The latest off the board are [player_tooltip player_id='572453' first='Jayla' last='Constant'] (UNLV) and E'Niyah Holmes (Lamar). It's a spread out group of future destinations, with [player_tooltip player_id='572965' first='Maddi' last='Stewart'] headed north to Nebraska. [player_tooltip player_id='396323' first='Mya' last='Alston'] out east to Quinnipiac (CT). Weirdly, the only player committed to one of Oklahoma's 4 D1 programs is [player_tooltip player_id='576992' first='Aliyah' last='Duval'] to Oral Roberts.

At least one more player will be headed D1, as [player_tooltip player_id='578034' first='Da'Nae' last='Jefferson'] has narrowed her college options to a top 5. There's also a handful more inside the top 25 that could reach the D1 level as well. Even if time in JuCO is needed to help their basketball journey. While this class might not reach the highs of last year, the quality of Oklahoma high school basketball remains strong. Especially when considering the healthy amount of players who will be filling out the D2 ranks.

Clutch Gene Players

There's already a pair of certified late in the game ballers among this group of seniors. In the 2024 Class 6A Title Game, the previously mentioned Jefferson etched her name in the history books with a late game "And 1" floater to win it for the Patriots in the closing seconds. This year has been filled with clutch movements for Stewart. In March, she was nails down the stretch to help Lincoln Christian to the Class 4A title. Then this July, Stewart went viral for a game winner on one of the biggest stages possible with CyFair Elite.

With the senior urgency kicking in this winter, expect more players to showcase their clutch gene in pursuit of State Titles.

Sneaky Forward Depth

Usually there's not anything sneaky about a prospect that's 6 foot or taller. But spread throughout the outstanding guards, is a fantastic group of future collegiate forwards. What's even more impressive, is how these forwards are literally all over the state. In western Oklahoma, there's Mooreland's [player_tooltip player_id='846963' first='Izzy' last='Eilers']. She's an impressive and tough prospect, who is a nightly double double threat. Eilers isn't the only one in western Oklahoma, as [player_tooltip player_id='846985' first='Hadlee' last='Ohm'] is from Alva.

Both the northern and southern edges of the state have their own finds. With [player_tooltip player_id='525642' first='Jaslene' last='Garcia-Howell'] fo Pawnee in Northern Oklahoma, to about two hours directly south and [player_tooltip player_id='846962' first='Alivia' last='Ellis'] of Vanoss. Garca-Howell is a strong and skilled forward, while Ellis is a lanky rim protector. There's also a pair of small town forwards, who are just outside the OKC metro, that are headed to college. With [player_tooltip player_id='934771' first='Ashlynn' last='Smith'] of Chickasha headed to Henderson St (Arkansas). And Dale's [player_tooltip player_id='897488' first='Danika' last='Pendley'] committed to Oklahoma Wesleyan. Both are of the similar mold, with powerful builds but sneakily skilled.

Holding it down on the northeastern front is [player_tooltip player_id='572961' first='Hannah' last='Bond']. She's been a force at Locust Grove and now will be anchoring a 3A title push for Adair. Fittingly, she'll play collegiately for Northeastern State in Tahlequah. Also out east is [player_tooltip player_id='579550' first='Reagan' last='Bowling'], a versatile, long armed forward prospect from Midway.

No matter where in the state, Oklahoma girls basketball fans and coaches are likely to find quality post play in the gym.
