The defending 4A state champs, despite graduating their starting backcourt to play college ball, will be in the thick of it to defend their crown. Talent, speed, athleticism and depth will continue to drive their success but one thing most other teams in the division cannot match is the Crusaders' size. Gregory bounced back from a November injury to be a major component of the rotation. She changes ends well with speed, uses position and hops to disrupt entry passes, passes cross-court with strength and shoots it smoothly and with bounce. I liken her play to that of a stretch four, which colleges have a difficult time finding. I expect Gregory to make all-league and every all-state team in some capacity. A talent.

Following the 2025 season Minnick received KBCA, KSHSAA and SIK 1A D I recognition in addition to repeating on the Northwest Kansas League's second team. Physically she brings a solid frame, good length and solid athleticism. Her ability to play with bounce, work both ways around the block and create with the ball and the pass could find her putting up double-double numbers. Minnick shot 51% from the floor including 31% from behind the arc. Rising 53 spots to #148 in the 2026 class, she is one of the top five prospects from the classification.

The 2025 season saw the fields of the 3A and 2A state tournament include a team from the Flint Hills League. Only a four point, sub-state final loss to 2A state runner-up Doniphan West kept the Chargers from reaching it instead. Expect the league to make noise this year again. All five Flint Hills League first team selections, including Orton, return. Only this year Wabaunsee will be in 1A D I. KBCA, KSHSAA and SIK named her to their 2A honorable mention teams and, given how much her game has grown over the summer, she should make first or second team all-state. The power forward is a force on both ends. Fluid on offense, physical defensively (as most SSA players are) and blessed with a length; strength and a solid frame she will be a serious problem keeping her off the glass. She knows how to get good looks inside and will keep defenders honest by shooting over them from afar too. She gained 23 spots in the rankings and could move into the top 50 with December's release.

Pitzer joins teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1263305' first='Brynna' last='Zoeller'] on the list of rising bigs to watch. Heading into her junior year she is not yet as polished as Zoeller but is expected to continue improving in transition speed and quickness. She has a very solid frame, strength and good interior footwork. Zoeller averaged 5.5 points and 4.7 rebounds in 2025. From what I have seen in terms of opponents' inability to keep her off the glass I expect to see both numbers tick up a bit in 2026. Pitzer jumped 38 spots to #116.

This extremely talented, multi-sport athlete can likely play any sport she wants to at the next level. Schooler was the top debuter in the 2027 rankings September update, could easily break the top 50 come late December and is the top center in the 2027 4A class. The 2025 4A state discus champion is a fantastic athlete. Very fast, works both ways around the block, catches and finishes on the fly and will out-jump nearly everybody she encounters for rebounds. On both ends she uses her quick feet to get into a position to post and calls for the ball strongly. That same footwork makes her a strong basket protector as well. Only a Frontier League, KSHSAA and SIK honorable mention selection a year ago there is no question she could earn first team all-league and 4A second or third team by KBCA, KSHSAA and SIK.

The Panthers ran the table in the brutal Mid-Continent League in 2025 and reached the quarterfinals of the 2A state tournament. Seems literally was in the middle of it all. She has terrific size and length, transitions well and has a quickly developing game on both ends. With a few all-league and experienced teammates having graduated I anticipate finding her scoring role to expand and climb from third team MCL. She lept 24 spots to #129.

After repeating as a all-state selection by KBCA, KSHSAA and SIK in 2025 Speer also picked up first team honors from the Northwest Kansas League. One of the state's leading shot blockers last season at 3.7 per game (3.6 in 2024) she also put up 13.3 points and 8.8 rebounds. She has good length and smartly walls up when challenging shots but where everything starts with is her footwork. Her quickness gets her into position on chopping close-outs and helping from the weak side with her strong peripheral vision. One of the top five 1A D I prospects in the 2026 class, she rose 19 spots and likely is not done yet. Offensively she runs the floor well, flashes across the lane effectively and finishes smoothly. Speer shot 47% from the floor but needs to improve upon her 41% free throw shooting. I would also like to see her show some perimeter shooting chops.

Torok is a load. An absolute physical mismatch for most teams. She has great size, long arms, runs the floor solidly and shoots it with a quick release off the catch. In a class with many quality centers Torok could become one of the top five as the season progresses. Holding an offer from University of Texas -Permian Basin is an indicator of the interest she will continue to draw to play collegiately. She climbed 13 spots to #72.

Zoeller not only received second or third team honors from KBCA, KSHSAA and SIK but also was a all-state selection in volleyball. A returning North Central Kansas League first team selection Zoeller will be a key factor in the Mustangs' quest to get through a sub-state final to reach the 4A state tournament. She has lane-clogging size, good footwork on both ends and hops challenging shots and grabbing boards. A member of a talented team with substantial size I do not expect to see her put up similar numbers from her team leading 12.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. She climbed 18 spots to #122.
